ISSUE 1 : PRIVATE LIFE

problem and question(s) My best friend, Mary, posted a picture of me on which I’m ugly. However she didn’t have my agreement. Here’s the situation : I was at the library where I laughed with Mary. But she was on her phone and when I fell out of the chair, she took a picture. I asked her to delete it and she said «ok, I promise ; I’ll do it». On the next day, the picture was posted on Snapchat and I saw that there were lots of mean comments about my face such as ‘’You’re a big shit !’’, ‘’You’re so ugly !’’, ‘’You’re so ridiculous’’, ‘’Dirty pig ? You look like a pig !’’. After that, I felt very sad and alone. Mary is not my friend anymore because she didn’t want to delete the picture ; this is mean. Furthermore, at school, everybody has watched the picture and they keep on annoying and teasing me. I am so embarrassed and upset. This is my private life which is spread on a social network website and this has got an impact on my everyday life! If you were me, what would you do ? Do you think that after a while, people will forget about this picture ? What would you do to avoid this tricky situation ? Do you think that Mary’s behaviour is correct ?

Answer by Terka´s team 1. If I was you I´ll check if she really delete it. If not, I'll again tell her that you don't like it and that it's not good for your friendship. 2. People will forget I guess. In this time people usually have bad photos of their friends. It's kind of joke. But sometimes for some people it's hard to accept it and they really don't like it. 3. If Mary is a good friend she will listen to you and she´ll delete it. If she's not, she isn't good friend for you . 4. Of course her behaviour isn´t ok. But she maybe thinks that is only like a joke.

Answers by Katka´s team I´d ignore them. Yes, it is embarrassing picture. But still it is just a picture. My real friends would stay with me. And people who laugh me are stupid. So I´d keep calm and go over it. Do you think that after a while, people will forget about this picture? Oh sure. Every trend lasts. And I think that some new target of attention will find very soon. What would you do to avoid this tricky situation ? You should avoid bad people and embarrassing situation. But it is quite difficult. Do you think that Mary's behaviour is correct? Absolutely no. It is not surprise that this happened when she had shared this picture. Mary is not a good friend and her behaviour isn´t right. So I think you should find some new better friends.

ISSUE 2 : PASSWORDS

problem and question(s) Hello, I am Tania and I have a problem. My friend Lucy stole my phone and changed password on my facebook account. She can do everything what she wants, she can write to my friends, she can post my photos and I can do nothing. She lies to my friends and none of them believe me. I am so scared walking to school, because I don’t know what she writes about me to my friends. I have fear to say it to my parents, because they had told me ,,don’t lend your phone to people”. WHAT SHALL I DO?

solutions There will always be problems with internet's safety and we can avoid that problems.I want to give suggestions to you at first.I always make good friends so they don't give my secrets to other people, they don't share my bad photos or use my passwords etc.I don't make my passwords same or similar as my other passwords of social networking sites or bank account.I don't let them to take my informations or bad pictures etc.To be honest I don't need to avoid them because they are not bad people so i think all you need to do is making some real friends.

ISSUE 3 : DISCRIMINATION

problem and question(s) Everyone often uses social media and teenagers have some social media groups of friends in the classroom.I am a new student at a different school in our area .My classmates have a whatsapp group and I would like to join in their group.I mention it to a friend and she has added me to the group. After a while ,one of my classmates asks me about the brand of my mobile phone and I say it is Samsung. Then everybody in that group says they all use Iphone and they do not want a friend using Samsung in their group.Nobody wants me in this group. So I am kicked out from my classmates' whatsapp group. If you were kicked out from an online group or community like me,How would you feel yourself and how should you react ?

solutions It's an unpleasant situation but you shouldn't upset a lot. Firstly, you should calm down. If they did so, it means they aren't good friends who value real friendship and nice relationship. For them material status is more important than that. So you should also "kick out" this situation and concentrate on other important things. Moreover, there are a lot of various social media groups where you can find understanding and share the same interests and nobody will ask you about the money or your possessions. It might also be a good idea to create a group on your phone and invite those who you can find pleasure communicating with. Who knows, maybe in some time your classmates will want to join your group and ask for it.

ISSUE 4 : FISHY MAILS

problem and question(s) Hello! My name's Vania. I'm fond of computer games and everything connected with them. Last year I joined a very interesting game and I have been playing it for about a year. But some days ago I received an e-mail from the administrator who promised me a reward if I gave him my login and password. And I did what he asked without any doubt. Then I understood, that it wasn't an administrator but it was too late. As a result, I lost my account and the opportunity to use other online activities together with it. Can you tell me what I should do now? And how to recognise such e-mails and avoid the problems?

solutions First, try to contact with the support team of the game you are involved to know if there is a solution and if you can recover your account. If doesn`t work you must cancel the account. Most of them are striking, they promise you fake rewards or benefits, they don´t have legal or authorized signatures and they ask you personal information. You must check if the e-mail is institutional or the address is not.

ISSUE 5 : SHARING PHOTOS

problem and question(s) I sent a private photo to a boy that I liked thinking he was not going to send it to anyone, but when we broke up and he sent the picture to everyone we had that photo happened to have everyone. I realised and I felt bad and everyone laughed at me .

Would you report the boy for making a private picture of yourself public?

solutions Dear friend, unfortunately, these are the risks of sending a private photo by social network (Facebook, Instagram, whatsapp), because it can be published at any time. We hope it wasn’t … compromising. I advise you to report him to make him conscious of his wrong action, because that is a crime, it’s an invasion of privacy. Certainly the boy will not do wrong anymore.

ISSUE 6 : CYBERBULLYING

problem and question(s) Hello. I’m Maria. I’m in a group of Facebook, with my classmates. But in this group there’s a boy who I don’t know. This boy started to spread false rumors about me and sends me horrible messages. At first, didn’t mind about that, but the messages started to be very offensive and containing sexual comments too. At this point I want to know more about this guy, because I was left out of the group from the other members of it. Yesterday the boy sent me an e-mail where he wrote that if I’ll talk with anyone about him, there will be serious consequences to my friends and my parents. Now I don’t know what to do and I’m desperate and depressed because I don’t want my parents to know about my problem.

What should I do ? Should I tell everything to my parents or my teachers or what else ???

solutions First, I think you should tell everything to your parents and to the police and you should show them the messages. Next, if you know the boy’s name, you should denounce him. He will have a fine. You must defend yourself. After that, he is a mean boy and what he does is not good. You must block him on the social network websites. Finally, you must not keep that for yourself. You should speak to your teachers about this boy and they will help you.
