Come September, the Mateel will be opening up the hall and the ‘back 40’ for a heaping helping of bluegrass, country, and American roots music with the 13th Annual Humboldt Hills Hoedown. With musical acts playing on two stages from high noon until midnight,plus cake walks, country games and a kid’s corral, Hoedown is steadily gaining a devoted following. David Grisman, Lacy J. Dalton, Devil Makes Three, Sam Bush, and Peter Rowan are some of great talent who have graced Hoedown stages.
Humboldt Hemp Fest
November 10-12, 2017
Attracting attendees from all over, Humboldt Hemp Fest will celebrate its 27th anniversary this November 10-12, 2017 at the Mateel Community Center. The fun starts with a Friday evening of comedy and film. On Saturday, the hall morphs into full festival mode for an all-day celebration with live music, dance, speakers, vendor/ info booths and more. On Sunday the hall is set up for the Hemp Fest Forum, featuring a panel of experts who will discuss relevant topics on local cannabis. All told, Hemp Fest makes for a fun and informative weekend.
