HICKS BBQ RESTAURANT Belleville, IL
Drake Construction completed interior design and remodel work for Hicks BBQ Restaurant. We utilized local barn wood, which was hand selected from two barns taken down in the Southern Illinois area. We also installed a barn wood beam, created custom shutters to hang over the windows, as well as custom chalkboard menus for the ordering window. Coordinating with the farm chic theme, we chose rural farm fixtures to address lighting issues in the dining area. We completed drywall patches and ceiling repair, painting for the entire dining room, as well as our hand painted mural on corrugated metal. This project was a marriage between country roots and classic design; matching the level of delicious food and warm family values with that relaxed country feel. We maximized their investment in the restaurant remodel by incorporating design elements that helped with profits. Special attention was also put on the entrance and restaurant flow, to naturally direct the customers to the order window and make the food the focus.
