This beautiful 200-acre estate encompasses 25 rooms in 3 different period buildings: the Victorian Liss Ard Country House - a superb 1850 mansion with a contemporary design and commanding views over the countryside; the adjacent Garden Mews - a collection of nine contemporary and comfortable bedrooms located in the former stable; and the Liss Ard Lake Lodge, a Victorian Dower house overlooking the 50-acre lake available for exclusive use. With a comprehensive array of activities on offer, Liss Ard is perfect for families of all ages. Spend your time cycling through the estate, walking the paths and tracks of the old woods or following the historic lakeside road by Lough Abisdealy to the Tower Lodge at the end of the estate. Take a dip in the lake which has numerous safe and accessible bathing spots, take one of the tandem or single kayaks and go for a trip on the water or enjoy a great afternoon of fishing. Alternatively, try chilling out with a good book or some board games in the drawing room, library or lounge or have a relaxing massage in one of our treatment rooms. Whilst parents relax, children can partake in the various activities and fun that Oisin’s Kids Club has on offer to keep your little ones entertained even on the occasional “damp” day during Irish school holidays. And as hassle free travelling with babies and toddlers is our speciality, Liss Ard offers parents the opportunity to pre-book baby equipment, and babysitting and nanny services with qualified child minders. Liss Ard offers a fresh, tasty and seasonal food experience to its guests, with menus based on the philosophy of using genuine and authentic produce of the highest quality sourced from local artisans and farmers. Dishes are served simply and deliciously, food is bursting with freshness and flavours. As Children are very important at Liss Ard, specially prepared children’s meals introducing fun and healthy food options are available at all meals. What makes a stay at Liss Ard even more unique is a visit to The Crater in the Irish Sky Garden - this giant earth and stone work made by famed artist James Turrell, with its contemplative ‘Vault Purchase’ or plinth at its centre is a living piece of art. The team at Liss Ard organizes guided tours through the Irish Sky garden during the day and at night time. Liss Ard is also the perfect venue for weddings and other private events. The country house can easily cater for groups up to 50. For the larger gathering, why not use a large marquee equipped with beautiful decoration and sophisticated lighting, placed in the Walled Garden.
