ALEXANDER GIRARD History of visual communication course Group project Common posters realisation // Individual concept development

Inspiration work based upon a research on Alexander Girard’s life and activity. The group project is composed of a timeline of the designer’s exercise and an explanatory poster mixing images and text.

The former replicates the aesthetics of the author’s own work archive. The latter shows an interpretation of his “Fonda del Sol” branding job on the front and merges his pictures and quotes on the back.

POST SCRIPT Brand x course Group project Common brand ideation // Individual packaging&corporate image realisation

Design the launch of a new brand, whose inspiration has to be one of the Seven Deadly Sins. It should be recognisable and innovative for the market.

The project involves a group and an individual part. The former is Brand DNA and the latter is a product or a service. My group’s deadly sin is gluttony.

THE WEE CARD Open source design course Group project Common system ideation // Individual graphics&corporate identity realisation

UK government gave money to develop the project of Smart Cities organization to improve Glaswegian services, because the city faced lots of problems but shows potential. The hackathon held in the city introduced ideas for a new type of community.

Hackathon ideas and datasets from Open Glasgow were a source to understand the city and come up with a change in Glasgow’s long-term reputation. My group was given “Transport” topic and we developed a city card to integrate the transport network and help the economy.

NOM NOM Food access course Group project Common service ideation // Individual nomShop realisation

Asked to create a future service connected to food (to solve complex environmental social or economic problems and pass to people food health), my team was assigned “School and Education” topic. Being a global need to find new ways to grow food and to feed us, we decided to focus on the introduction of “future foods” into our diet.

We aimed to create a strategic plan on three generation to develop and adapt to our changing society. The outcome was NOM NOM, a brand which aims to make insects attractive and available on the market. Facing the stigma, I developed the nomShop, an insect powder selling point, offering a wide selection of flavours.

ADOPT A STEP Design for experience course Individual project

To design an experience in a neglected spot in Glasgow, I had to pick a “liminal” place to revaluate it. Because of people avoiding it and representing the heart of an architecture which still hasn’t reached its potential, I chose the main staircase of the GSA’s Reid Building.

Even though its original purpose is to adapt to student’s needs, they are not allowed to modify it as they want. “Adopt a step” lets students create art on the stairs, reappropriating their own spaces and stimulating the creative abrasion between different departments of the School.

“ORANGES ARE NOT THE ONLY FRUIT” BOOK COVER Design award Individual project

The Penguin Random House Design Award is an opportunity for students to engage in design for publishing during their studies and to experience real cover and page layout design briefs first-hand.

“Oranges Are Not The Only Fruit” by Jeanette Winterson has been chosen because there are many themes and layers within. It should appeal to a literary readership. Try and reflect this in your design.
