This exhibition, which spans a half century of printmaking by Henri Matisse (1869-1954), is one of the first major surveys to take place in New York in many years and comprises over 80 prints, many of which are rare examples in various graphic media: etching, drypoint, woodcut, lithography, linocut and pochoir (stencil). The exhibition begins September 12, 2013, at Marlborough Gallery, after which it will travel to Marlborough Fine Art, London, and finally Galería Marlborough in Madrid. The fully-illustrated catalogue by Marilyn McCully and Michael Raeburn will accompany the exhibition.
