Welcome to the 19th Annual Grant Thornton LLP Business Excellence Awards January 24, 2019 at the Vancouver Island Conference Centre in Nanaimo What a great way to start of 2019 - with an evening of celebration for the “best of the best” of business on Vancouver Island over the last calendar year! The businesses represented in this program and that have joined us this evening represent the best of the best in 17 different categories. Business owners, managers and leaders are gathered tonight for an evening of positive reflection about their accomplishments, networking and camaraderie. This what the Vancouver Island Business Excellence Awards has always been about. There are always good stories to tell in every environment and economy, and these Awards were created for exactly this purpose: To celebrate the successes of companies in our economy in a wide variety of sectors. The pages of this Official Souvenir Book are filled with profiles, photos and contact Information for some of the most successful businesses on Vancouver Island over the 2018 calendar year. There are some amazing stories to be told, and we are grateful to have the opportunity to highlight these as sterling examples of what can be, and is being done, in our region. This event is brought to you by our generous Sponsors: Platinum Title Sponsor Grant Thornton LLP, Platinum Media Sponsor Black Press, Gold Sponsors RBC Royal Bank, Elite Promotional Marketing and the Vancouver Island Conference Centre. Our Category Sponsors this year are Grieg Seafood, Invest Comox Valley, Helijet, Coastal Community Credit Union, Country Grocer, Vancouver Island Bus Lines and BE Digital. Without them, the Business Excellence Awards would not be possible. And this year, we’re delighted to have Skye Ryan of CHEK TV serve as our Master of Ceremonies! Of course, this also wouldn’t be possible without all the businesses that have been nominated for the 17 categories in this year’s awards. Business Examiner Victoria and Business Examiner Vancouver Island tell stories about business, and the Vancouver Island Business Excellence Awards gives the publication a great opportunity to highlight some of the biggest and brightest stars of the year. They are honored to be able to combine their efforts to put together this night to remember. Don’t forget to look for photos and the winners at: www.businessexaminer.ca
