Sleeving a shuttle facilitates the change ofhalyard. It is also recommended to turn the ropes around in order to displace the chafing sections to increase the longevity. ~ Vectran When using Vectran, weadvise you to select blocks one size up, due to Vectran's high mechanical strength. Example : with Vectran 0 6 mm, select blocks 0 8 mm. Resistance Ropes resistance also depends on: ,. • Knots: they reduce the resistance by 30 to 50 % (20 %only for splices). • Bend axis: choose the blocks adapted to each rope application. • Abrasion : avoid damaging the rope cover. • Rope care: rinsing and wintering your ropes will prolong their lifetime. Rope care For longer life, rinse out ropes in fresh water and protect from UV rays. It is recommended to machine wash them ("delicate" programme) to remove salt and mouldiness before wintering.
