Company history RO-CLEAN DESMI started life in 1977 when both De Smithske (DESMI) and ROULUNDS FABRIKER (ROULUNDS) started developing equipment for oil spill response. DESMI concentrated on pumps and skimmers, whilst ROULUNDS concentrated on containment booms. In 1986, ROULUNDS acquired the English company OMI and in 1992 RO-CLEAN INTERNATIONAL was established. As the two companies (DESMI and ROULUNDS) were the only Danish companies in this business, it became obvious to merge the two divisions as the product range were complementary. In 1996 RO-CLEAN DESMI A/S was established, creating todays company. Since 1996, RO-CLEAN DESMI has grown rapidly and established branches and an agents network worldwide to provide a service to our customers which is second to none. In 2005, DESMI took over ROULUNDS shares, and today RO-CLEAN DESMI is 100% owned by the DESMI group. In 2008, RO-CLEAN DESMI merged with the American company APPLIED FABRIC TECHNOLOGIES Inc (AFTI), which has enabled RO-CLEAN DESMI to provide a greater range of products, and a strong US base.
