LINEBACKERS/DEFENSIVE BACKS: RASHAWN WEST
TIGHT ENDS: BLAKE SIMMONS
Charles Boyd, a 2004 graduate of Urbana University, begins his first season as the running backs coach at Marietta College. Boyd comes to Marietta after spending the last season as an assistant football coach at Woodward High School in Cincinnati, Ohio. He served as the co-defensive coordinator, linebackers coach and special teams coordinator with the Bulldogs. Boyd also assisted with the linebackers at Taft High School in 2006. Boyd earned All-Mid-States Football Association honors as a linebacker at Urbana in 2001, 2002 and 2003. He was also a NAIA All-America selection in 2002 and 2003. The three-time team MVP led the Blue Knights and the league in tackles for three straight seasons. Boyd began his collegiate playing career as a running back at Miami University in 1997. Boyd, a native of Cincinnati, earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Computer Systems from Urbana.

Rashawn West, a 2008 graduate of Thomas More College, begins his third season coaching the linebackers and defensive backs for the Pioneers. West, a four-year starter with the Saints, was a three-time All-Presidents’ Athletic Conference (PAC) honoree, earning second team honors as a sophomore and junior linebacker and honorable mention as a senior corner back. West, a native of Oxford, Ohio, earned a Bachelor of Arts in Educational Studies from Thomas More.
RUNNING BACKS: CHARLES BOYD

Blake Simmons, a 2010 graduate of Ball State University, begins his first season as the tight ends coach at Marietta College. Simmons spent the last five seasons as an assistant football coach at his alma mater Yorktown High School. During this time he not only led the junior varsity program but also assisted the varsity team’s offense. In addition, he helped coach the varsity golf team in 2010. Simmons, a native of Yorktown, Ind., earned a Bachelor of Science in Sports Administration from Ball State.
