CAREER DESCRIPTION In Microsoft Network Administration, you install, customize, configure, optimize and trouble-shoot hardware and software on new and existing computer systems. Microsoft Network Administrators specialize in one or more of the following areas: • Microsoft Product Specialist • Microsoft Systems Engineer • Microsoft Networking Technology Employment is available in all industries that use computer technology. Most administrators are employed in the computer and network technology support.

HOW TO GET STARTED If you are interested in working with Windows networks, GateWay Community College offers an advanced position in this speciality area. You will need to complete an Associate in Applied Science

Degree and a Certificate of Completion in Microsoft Networking Technology. You can also complete a Certificate of Completion in Microsoft Product Specialist. This certificate will prepare you for an entry-level position in a support or help desk role. GateWay also offers a Certificate of Completion in Microsoft Systems Engineer. This certificate will provide you with the skills needed for entry into a network support position. All of our programs will help you prepare for the Microsoft Certified Information Technology Professional (MCITP) exams.
