Assignment three: case study Deliverables: 350 - 500 words [APA style] Submission format: word document or word compatible Assessment: 20% of the final grade Due: Friday 15 April 2011 Brief: Assignment three aims to further your research and analysis of your topic as we move towards the final research paper. Continuing the research developed in assignments 1 and 2, this assignment asks you to identify one case study, analyze this example, and illustrate how this case study provides “evidence” for your argument/thesis statement. In a short written essay of 300 – 500 words, you will describe your analysis of your case study and justify the relevance of your case study to your larger research argument with reference to specific information or details. Visual, physical, and textual evidence may be used in the analysis. The quality of the analysis and the relevance of the case study to the larger research project will be the primary criteria in assessing this project. Expectations: •
350-500 word essay that includes the following: 1) a clearly identified ‘case study’ 2) thoughtful analysis of the case study, highlighting relevant visual, physcial or textual evidence 3) a convincing discussion of how this case studies illustrates key aspects of your larger research argument/thesis statement (refer back to assignment 2). 4) relevant images and illustrations
