La idea de Marcelinus és el redisseny del jersei anomenat marcelino o camacho. Era una peça molt estesa als entorns rurals de Catalunya. Els jerseis actuals s’identifiquen amb els de tota la vida, però amb un aire nou, contemporani, marcat per les tendències estètiques del moment i pensat per ser una peça portable en moltes situacions.

The idea behind the Marcelinus label is the re-design of the classic marcelino or camacho cardigan, commonly worn in rural Catalonia. The current design, though, has a new, more contemporary look that has been influenced by modern tendencies in styles and can be worn at almost anytime, anywhere.

El jersei Marcelinus s’ha dissenyat, teixit i confeccionat íntegrament a Olot. D’altra banda, cal destacar que els Marcelinus es teixeixen en un dels únics tallers de la Garrotxa, amb tricotoses rectilínies.

All of the design and manufacturing processes involved in the production of Marcelinus jerseys take place in the city of Olot (Catalonia).

Marcelinus va iniciar la seva activitat l’any 2009. La nostra voluntat des del començament ha estat la de conservar una tradició en una comarca, la Garrotxa, on el tèxtil havia estat motor de l’economia, avui en dia quasi desaparegut.

Estem convençuts que projectes com el de Marcelinus permetran que zones amb una història, experiència i llarga tradició, conservin i generin nous llocs de treball.

The Marcelinus’ story began in 2009 and right from the start our aim was to preserve a local tradition in La Garrotxa, a region in which the textile industry had once been one of the principal motors of the local economy.

We firmly believe that projects such as Marcelinus help areas with rich local traditions to conserve and generate new jobs.

Our hope is that the skills of the past can once again become keys to the economic development of the future.

Hem d’aconseguir que els oficis del nostre passat siguin els eixos del desenvolupament del futur.

La idea de Marcelinus es el rediseño del jersey llamado marcelino o camacho. Era una prenda muy común en los entornos rurales de Catalunya. Los jerséis actuales se identifican con los de toda la vida, pero con un aire nuevo, contemporáneo, marcado por las tendencias estéticas del momento y pensado para ser una prenda para llevar en muchas situaciones.

El jersey Marcelinus se ha diseñado, tejido y confeccionado íntegramente en Olot. Por otra parte, cabe destacar que los Marcelinus se tejen en uno de los únicos talleres de la Garrotxa, con tricotosas rectilíneas.

Marcelinus inició su actividad en el año 2009. Nuestra voluntad desde el principio ha sido la de conservar una tradición en una comarca, La Garrotxa, donde el textil era el motor de la economía, hoy en día casi desaparecido.

Estamos convencidos que proyectos como el de Marcelinus permitirán que zonas con una historia, experiencia y larga tradición, conserven y generen nuevos puestos de trabajo.

Tenemos que conseguir que los oficios de nuestro pasado sean los ejes del desarrollo del futuro.

Marcelinus ist das neu aufgelegte Design eines traditionellen Pullovers namens “Marcelino” oder auch “Camacho”, ein Kleiderstück, dass im Landesinneren von Katalunien sehr verbreitet war. Die heutigen Modelle inspirieren sich an den damaligen Pullovern, jedoch mit neuem Flair, gedacht zum Anziehen für jede Gelegenheit.

Das Design von Marcelinus sowie die komplette Herstellung vom Gewebe bis zum Endprodukt wird in Olot, eine Kleinstadt, gelegen inmitten eines Naturparks im Norden Kataloniens gefertigt. Die Teile werden in einer der wenigen noch existierenden Textilwerkstätten, mit traditionellen Maschinen produziert.

Die Tätigkeit von Marcelinus wurde 2009 aufgenommen. Von Anfang an war einer unserer Ziele, die traditionelle Textilindustrie in dem Landkreis der Garrotxa zu bewahren. Vor Jahren stellte die Textilindustrie, heutzutage weitgehend aufgegeben, einen der Entwicklungsmotoren der Gegend dar.

Wir sind überzeugt davon, dass Projekte wie “Marcelinus” Gegenden mit traditionsreicher Lokalindustrie helfen kann, Arbeitsplätze zu erhalten und neue zu schaffen.

Wir glauben daran, dass aus unseren Traditionsberufen Entwicklungsachsen für die Zukunft entstehen können.
