LiteFUSION™ WATERPROOFING MEMBRANE Product: LiteFUSION is an economical water-based acrylic waterproofing membrane for use when hydrostatic pressure exists. It has the ability to bridge cracks that might later develop in a foundation, and can protect from the dangers of moisture, which cause mold and mildew. Uses: Mar-flex LiteFUSION is specifically designed for waterproofing pre-cast, poured and masonry foundation walls. Mar-flex LiteFusion is a spray-on membrane, so it dries as a seamless, monolithic coating. LiteFUSION is compatible with Mar-flex drainage and insulation boards and rolls. Benefits: • Water-based; No odor • Stops water leaks in non structural concrete cracks • Can be applied to damp walls • Seamless, monolithic coating • Gray to blend in with concrete • Can be applied to top of foundation walls Limitations: Do not apply when ambient temperatures are expected to be or are below 40°F. Cannot be applied to wet or frozen walls. Products must be stored indoors at temperatures above 32°F. KEEP OUT OF REACH OF CHILDREN. Opened drums should be tightly sealed before storage to prevent a skim-coat from developing on the surface of the liquid. Technical: Surface cures within 12-24 hours. Do not dilute. LiteFUSION is available for purchase in 5-gallon buckets and 55-gallon drums. Preparatory Work: Remove below grade wall ties inside the basement and out. Poured concrete walls must be free of voids and honeycombs. Any such areas, if present, should be covered with the Mar-flex 1200 Mastic. All brick ledges must be properly capped and sealed. Ensure that footings are exposed and free of any debris, loose material, wet/damp or frozen areas. If needed, sweep the tops of the footers to clear away debris and dry footings/walls with a weed burner or similar. Make sure that all existing pipe, conduit or any other penetration through the wall are properly sealed on the outside with Mar-flex 1200 Mastic. If penetrations are to be added after the spray application, it is still the applicators responsibility to ensure these areas are sealed. If this responsibility is passed onto the builder, inform the builder they are responsible and inform them of the proper procedures to seal these areas. Installation - Spray Use an airless sprayer with a pump pressure setting between 800 and 1800 psi and a 727 or 731 heavy duty tip. First, apply a layer of membrane where the footing and the wall intersect. The surface should be coated to a wet mil thickness of 30. The minimum dry thickness will be approximately 17 mils. Using multiple, uniform passes, alternating from horizontal to vertical spray small sections of the wall.

As work progresses check for thin spots and voids in the spray application. Re-spray any areas as necessary to obtain the required mil thickness. Determine the wet mil thickness by using a standard wet mil gauge. Application should be made to all below-grade basement walls. This includes any wall that would be considered a common wall to habitable/storage areas. (I.E. Garage wall, porch, etc.) Application can also be made all the way to the top of the wall avoiding any confusion with grade lines. Backfilling/Drainage: Backfilling should begin no sooner than 24 hours after the installation of the LiteFUSION Waterproofing System, but must be backfilled within 15 days. #57 gravel or equivalent must be no less than 2’ high at the base of the foundation and 1’ in depth away from the foundation walls. Adequate interior and exterior foundation drainage at the base of the foundation walls or across any floors must be properly installed and working. Gutters and downspouts must be installed and functioning properly. Adequate drainage in landscaping beds adjacent to the foundation must be installed. Final grade must not extend above the waterproofing system and must slope away from the foundation at a minimum of ½” per foot for the first 12’ from the structure.
