winter 08/09 Under the Full Moon One of those long, busy days in the office. E-mails, phone calls, meetings until your head feels about to burst. But then it‘s finally time to go outside into the cold, clear winter night. Full moon, new fallen snow, mountains. It‘s as if nature had prepared everything so perfectly, just for us, and as if the moon had only turned on her light to show us the way in the dark. No need for a big floodlight system, no need for machine-groomed slopes or loud after-ski parties. Outside, nature has all we need, and it is silently waiting for us. So we better hurry to the meeting point where our friends are already shaking their hooves. The exhaustion from the day of work has suddenly disappeared. We tramp up the slope, and despite the backpacks and our heavy breathing we feel somehow lighter. Our shadows touch the trees at the edge of the woods and connect us to the stars above. When we reach the top the view strikes us speechless. The full moon and the snow make everything around us sparkle, and shine and glow. All we can do is breathe and enjoy. We take our sweaty clothes off and exchange them for warm, dry things, and then we drink tea from a thermos and share some food. Most of all, though, we cannot wait to ride downhill through the glittering whiteness. No wonder that these nighttime excursions always succeed in re-filling our energy reserves and giving us new direction and momentum… That‘s the story of how we started the MOONRIDER’S collection. MOONRIDER‘S Bei Vollmond raus
Wieder mal ein langer, aufregender Tag im etwas überheizten Büro. Emails, Telefonate, Meetings - bis uns der Kopf raucht. Doch dann ist es endlich so weit: Raus in die kalte und klare Winterluft. Vollmond, Neuschnee, Berge. Es ist, als ob die Natur alles perfekt für uns vorbereitet und der Mond sein Licht nur deshalb angeknipst hätte, damit er uns im Dunkeln den Weg weist. Wir brauchen keine aufwendige Flutlichtanlage, keine präparierten Pisten und auch kein lautes Après-Ski. Draußen in der Natur ist alles vorhanden und wartet still auf uns. Also nichts wie los zum vereinbarten Treffpunkt, wo unsere Freunde schon ungeduldig im Schnee scharren. Die Müdigkeit, die sich im Lauf des Tages eingeschlichen hatte, ist plötzlich wie weggeblasen. Schnaufend stapfen wir den Hang hinauf und fühlen uns mit jedem Schritt freier und trotz Rucksack irgendwie leichter. Wir sehen, wie sich unsere Schatten mit den Bäumen am Waldrand und den Sternen am Himmel verbinden. Oben angekommen können wir es kaum fassen: Vollmond und Schnee bringen alles um uns herum zum Funkeln, Leuchten und Strahlen. Jetzt einfach nur durchatmen, staunen, genießen. Wir ziehen unsere nass geschwitzten Sachen aus, packen uns warm ein, schlürfen Tee aus der mitgebrachten Thermoskanne und stärken uns noch mit einer Kleinigkeit zum Essen. Vor allem aber freuen wir uns „sakrisch“ auf die nun vor uns liegende gemeinsame Abfahrt durch glitzerndes Weiß. Kein Wunder, dass wir mit solchen nächtlichen Ausflügen immer wieder Schwung und Kraft für neue Wege tanken können… Das war die kleine Geschichte, wie wir zu MOONRIDER’S gekommen sind. Vielleicht gibt euch unsere Kollektion ja einen Ruck, auch mal nachts bei Vollmond raus zu gehen und euren ganz persönlichen Moonride zu erleben. Wir wünschen euch dazu auf alle Fälle schon jetzt einen sternenklaren Himmel. eure maloja’s
