Introduction We’re looking ahead to the holiday season and to moving into our new London showrooms on Pall Mall which are undergoing redecoration and refurbishment. With our current focus on interiors what better time to present this diverse collection of fine furniture, works of art and decorative objects. Among them we hope you will discover the perfect pieces for your home and join us in marking over 150 years at Malletts with some new acquisitions of your own. The current fiscal climate has allowed us to offer the collection at highly competitive prices and we are delighted to be able to share this commercial advantage with you Highlights of the collection feature a monumental Regency circular extending dining table possibly by Bullock with peripheral leaf extensions reaching a diameter of over 7ft. 7in. It belongs to an elite group of English tables of this genre and scale produced during the first half of the 19th century. Another rare piece produced in Europe at a slightly earlier date is an Empire patinated and gilt bronze "night clock" by the eminent Paris maker Bonfenschen. Its unique movement incorporates an internal wick lamp and lens so that the time can easily be read in low light by means of an illuminated wall projection. A piece of complete contrast is an equally rare Charles II beadwork picture whose vibrant colours have remained remarkably well preserved. Together with the central figure, the scene includes a charming array of birds and insects with a lion and leopard in the foreground. It also retains its original black and gilt Japanned frame. We welcome all enquiries and look forward to being of assistance to you.
