NEW VINTAGE Feraud-Brunel Cotes du Rhones Villages 2007 $21.75 Wine Spectator 91 Really shows the ripeness of the vintage, with a wide, almost exotic range of crushed blueberry, boysenberry and blackberry fruit, liberally layered with graphite, woodspice and tobacco notes. The long, racy finish is filled with graphite and licorice. Delicious. Drink now through 2011. September 2009

Layer Cake Malbec Mendoza 2008 $15.00 Robert Parker 91 Dense with notes of blackberry, earth, roasted meats, and a hint of barbecue spice, this wine exhibits great fruit, delicious, gull-bodied texture, silky tannins, and a long finish. It does taste more like a $30-$50 bottle of Malbec than one that can be purchased for $15. 1/6/10

Regularly $50.00 Long Shadows Saggi 2006 The 2006 Saggi is made by Ambrogio and Giovanni Folonari of the well-known Tuscan family whose winemaking history dates back to the late 1700s. The wine is made up of 42% Cabernet Sauvignon, 39% Sangiovese, and 19% Syrah sourced and blended from several AVAs. It was aged for 19 months in 60% new French oak. This purple-colored wine offers aromas of pain grille, spice box, earth notes, cassis, and cherry. Smoothtextured, layered, and ripe, this well-balanced, elegant effort has ample savory fruit, excellent depth and concentration, and a lengthy finish. It should be in its prime from 2012 to 2021.
