ENGLISHMEN BECOME SCOTS AT LYON COLLEGE // by John Krueger, Sports Information Director

ROBERT AND JORDAN HALL admit they are as competitive as two people can be when playing soccer— typical for brothers. They hope that competitiveness will help them reach the professional level as they push each other to excel.

in 2009 after failing to obtain a professional soccer contract in his homeland. In his last three seasons, he’s helped the Scots to a combined 30-19-5 record (.612), scoring 17 goals and adding six assists, despite usually playing in the defensive backfield.

Despite their increased drive when they’re on the field with the other, the brothers didn’t officially compete together until they left their home in Hull, England, and crossed the Atlantic to play for the Lyon College Scots.

“I played club ball for the Doncaster Rovers in England for two years,” Robert said. “I tried to get a professional contract, but nothing happened. But there was this guy that was linked with America and getting guys over here. That’s when I joined up with an agency and got a scholarship offer here at Lyon. I had a few schools to choose from, but Lyon was like a small community, and that was more like a family

ROBERT IS A SENIOR, set to graduate with a degree in psychology in May. He came to the United States 20
