Mt. Baker Vision Clinic When should my child have their first eye exam? Most professional eye organizations recommend a child have their first eye exam by five years old. However, if you suspect a problem with your child’s eyes, exams can be done at any age, including soon after birth. Should my children wear sunglasses?
