PREVIEW GUIDE

“The use of biomethane as a transport fuel is integral to the UK’s reduction of road transport emissions. ADBA’s event is a unique forum for any organisation involved in or interested in the production and use of biomethane to find out about the benefits of biomethane and the latest developments in policy, pricing, technology and infrastructure.” Andrew Whittles, Managing Director, Low Emission Strategies and Chair of ADBA’s Transport Working Group

UK BIOMETHANE AND ecal e r F GAS VEHICLE lo to all rities autho CONFERENCE 2014 9 September, Northampton Guildhall, Northampton ADBA is delighted to announce its second UK Biomethane and Gas Vehicle Conference this September. As the trade body for the UK’s anaerobic digestion and biogas sector, ADBA is producing this event in line with our strategic vision to realise the full potential of biomethane as a transport fuel. ADBA is uniquely placed to understand the issues faced by the biomethane supply chain and end vehicle users, including the availability and deliverability of biomethane. ADBA actively lobbies to clear pathways for both producers and users, enabling the industry to receive the best value, strengthening the supply chain from beginning to end.

This event brings together industry professionals from AD, transport and fuel infrastructure and logistics, in order to discuss the change necessary to achieve the goal of a clearly profitable and affordable route to market. Attendees can hear from experts on the environmental benefits of biomethane, refuelling infrastructure, vehicle manufacturers and regulatory framework developments, as well as insights and debates on overcoming current barriers affecting the supply chain. The UK Biomethane and Gas Vehicle Conference is a unique forum where attendees can be confident that they are receiving clear, unbiased information from experts about the best options for their organisations: be they biomethane suppliers, infrastructure providers, fleet operators or environmental practitioners.

Get answers to critical questions such as: • What is current and future availability of biomethane and how can biomethane producers achieve the best value from their product? • What are the current mechanisms for delivering biomethane into the transport sector and what policy changes are required for biomethane to fulfil its potential? • What are the infrastructural requirements for transport operators and what would a national network look like? • What does a cost model for successful development look like – what funding is available and do we need incentives? • What are the current and emerging gas vehicles and technologies? • What are the environmental benefits of producing and using biomethane? • What can we learn from other countries?

“We believe that natural gas has the potential to reduce emissions, particularly in heavy duty vehicle fleets where there are few other options. Where it is available, biomethane is a particularly attractive option for such fleets and the UK Biomethane and Gas Vehicle Conference will be a great opportunity to discuss its potential.” Andy Eastlake, Managing Director, the LowCVP
