At first glance, Pipers appears to be just another neighborhood sports pub. The walls are lined with eleven TVs, all tuned to various sports programs. There are tall, polished wooden tables surrounded by tall stools. There is a horseshoe shaped bar topped with spotlessly clean, polished wood. Food, entertainment, and fun are all a part of a great festival, and the Irish Festival has it all. Food is reasonably priced and features Irish and American cuisine catered by Shannon Pub; dishes include traditional Irish bangers, corned beef city and cabbage, scones, potato chowder, and Irish lamb stew, and the beverages to wash it all down include Guinness, Harp, and Jameson's. Four stages of entertainment will be playing all day, featuring bands like Penny Whiskey, POGEY, Enter The Haggis, and Prodigals, plus dance demonstrations from Rince na Tiarna Dancers, Woodgate Shamrock Dancers, and Clann na Cara Dancers, among others. There will also be vendors selling clothing, books, CDs, ceramics, and glassware. In addition, there will be an Irish Mass on Sunday at 10: 30 a.m. Broadway is one of the most popular destinations in the Big Apple, so before you arrive, be sure to plan on seeing a show. You may have to purchase your tickets in advance or you may be able to get a great deal by buying ahead of time. Research the show that interest you most and buy tickets based on seating corned beef and cabbage value. Remember there are some great off-Broadway shows too, which will save you a bundle and still give you the Big Apple theatre experience. Every March 17, you'll see people adorned with shamrocks eating slow cooker corned beef and cabbage beef and cabbage, drinking green-colored beers and cocktails, and attending parades. All these traditions are embraced by hosts of people, but where did they all come from? My eggs arrived over easy, as ordered, but were on the small side. Half the plate was piled high with a more than ample serving of home fries. The fries were browned and tender. Some people may prefer a crisper potato. The bacon strips were full sized, not half cut like some places serve, and very crisp without being burned. I noticed another diner had ordered the sausage and the links served were quite large. All in all it was an excellent value for the money. Beer, Beer, And More Beer!: What would St. Patrick's Day be without beer? If you would like to stick

to the tradition of green beer, talk to your local liquor distributor. Many have kegs of the dyed drink available for purchase. Another great idea is to have a "pub tour of Ireland" by serving a variety of Irish beers, such as Guinness, Harp, or O'Hara's. Or offer Irish liquor, such as Bailey's Irish Cream or Brenden's Irish Whiskey. For those guests who do not drink, serve festive green limeade. On St Patrick's Day, the typical meal is slow cooker slow cooker corned beef brisket with potatoes and cabbage and cabbage, served with boiled potatoes. In Reno, any number of casino restaurants serve this meal-the Silver Legacy, the Grand Sierra Resort and Circus Circus. Not only can you get slow cooker corned beef and cabbage and cabbage, you can also try calcannon (an Irish potato dish), Guinness flavored dishes, Irish Lamb Stew and Irish soda bread. The Hornet Restaurant is a great place to eat for every meal. They have a moderate menu with many interesting selections for all courses. My favorite is the Thai Chicken Lettuce Wrap which was flavorful and filling for an appetizer. The Hornet has a wide selection of burgers from the traditional cheeseburger to the Parisian Burger with a peppercorn encrusted patty, applewood smoked bacon, brie cheese, and dijon mustard. They have many booths and tables, plus a good sport bar area for a Sunday football or an afternoon baseball game. On the weekends they have a brunch special with $2 Bloody Mary Bar and classic Mimosas. This is a twist on the standard Corn Beef and Cabbage. For those who like their foods hot and spicy, the Mexican St. Patrick's Relleno will be for you minus the cabbage.
