Nick Robinson Executive Assistant to the Head Coach • First Season

Nick Robinson joins Coach Trent Johnson’s staff for a second time after serving as an assistant coach for him at Stanford from 2006-08. In his first year as the Executive Assistant to the Head Coach, Robinson is involved in every aspect of the LSU basketball program. His responsibilities include on-campus recruiting, student-athlete development, co-camp director, office management, community involvement and the Sixth Man Club. Prior to joining Coach Johnson’s staff at LSU, Robinson served as an assistant coach at William Jewell College for one season under the tutelage of head coach Larry Holley. As an assistant coach at Stanford and William Jewell College, Robinson assisted in recruiting, opponent scouting, game preparation, player development, and worked as a position coach for the forwards. Robinson got his coaching start at the prep level, serving as an assistant coach at Rio Rancho High School in New Mexico during the 2005-06 season for head coach Brian Smith. After serving in this capacity, Robinson joined Coach Johnson’s staff at Stanford as the Director of Operations. He was promoted to assistant coach in June 2006. As an assistant coach under Johnson at Stanford, Robinson contributed to the development of future NBA players Brooke

and Robin Lopez as the Cardinal advanced to the NCAA Tournament in 2007 and reached the Sweet 16 in 2008. Robinson played his college basketball at Stanford, 2001-05, where he was instrumental in guiding the Cardinal to an impressive 92-34 record, four trips to the NCAA Tournament, a Pac-10 title in 2003-04, and a No. 1 national ranking during the 2003-04 season. Known for his outstanding defensive play and leadership abilities, Robinson was named Best Defensive Player three times by his teammates and served as a team captain during his junior and senior seasons. During the 2003-04 season, Robinson’s game-winning shot against Arizona was nominated for the ESPY’s “Best Moment” when he helped steal the ball, took two dribbles across half court and fired home a successful 35-foot three-point shot as time expired. Robinson played in 110 games for the Cardinal under head coach Trent Johnson (2004-05) and head coach Mike Montgomery (2001-04). Three times in his career, Robinson was named the winner of the Howie Dallmar Coaches Award, presented to the Stanford student-athlete who displayed excellence on-and-off the court. He was also tabbed to the District VIII ESPN the Magazine University Division All-Academic First Team his senior year.

A native of Liberty, Missouri, Robinson attended Liberty High School, where he was a three-year starter and earned first-team All State honors. During his senior season, Liberty earned an undefeated season, 31-0, and a state title. Robinson, a three-time Pac-10 All Academic selection, graduated from Stanford in 2005 with a master’s degree in Sociology and a bachelor’s degree in Political Science. Nick and his wife, Meagan, have a daughter, Annie (5), and a son, Tate (1).
