lost the guide to where to find it

for elegant fair couture IF YOU needed an excuse to play ladies and dress in your finery, here it is. The clever lass behind Fanny’s Flat Vintage Boutique (Fyfe Street, Talbot) has created a most splendid event aptly tilted: ‘The Art of Elegance Fair’. To be held at The Maryborough Town Hall (we know, it’s a wee hike from here but well worth the effort for such splendour) on Sunday, May 13, from 11am until 4pm. Of course high tea will be served, but not just any high tea, it’s the ‘Mini Mad Hatter High Tea’ served with local wines. And as it happens to coincide with Mother’s Day, be sure to take mum, and don a hat for the chance to win a great prize. There’s even a ‘rabbit hole’ to lose oneself in (also know as the Lower Town Hall) where you’ll find collectibles presented on white linen-topped tables. Your skills not up to this vintage standard? Fear not...book in for a vintage makeover with Ballarat’s Miss Lulu PinCurl Pin-Ups. For more info visit: artofelegancefair.wordpress.com. High Tea $25 per person – bookings essential, call: 5461 5080. Fair entry $10 per person, conc.$7, under 16 free.
