Improve your shrubs’ performance and take the mystery out of pruning! Learn to prune shrubs and vines the correct way. Proper timing will ensure optimum blooms, and accurate techniques will give your plants proper shaping and growing habits. Try your hand at pruning specific plants like Thuja, Taxus, Rhododendron, and Wisteria. Dress for the outdoor weather and bring your pruners.

This ever popular, day-long course is for beginners interested in bonsai, the centuries’ old Asiatic art of dwarfing trees and shrubs grown in pots or small spaces. During the morning, learn the care and culture of bonsai and techniques for designing and maintaining these sculptured treasures. In the afternoon, you will work with the instructor’s guidance to design your own bonsai to take home. Course fee includes plant, wire, potting material, and bonsai scissors, and discount café coupon included To register: ce-registration.longwoodgardens.org
