Dates Fridays, February 7–-March 28 1–4 pm 8 sessions Fee $224 Member $249 Non-member Where Acer Room Design a landscape from start to finish. Gain practice in master drawing and drafting by accurately measuring a garden space, translating measurements to scale, and drafting a base plan. Get acquainted with design tools such as a scale, triangle, and T-square, and garner the knowledge needed to develop a concept plan, converse professionally with other designers, and examine landscapes with an educated eye.

Many design lessons can be learned from studying meadows and other wild areas. This course will start by looking at examples of unmanaged areas to draw out elements that can be included in the design of gardens of any scale. The course will explore how gardens can be enhanced by incorporating or imitating the patterns or habits of natural areas. Each student will develop a plant list and focus on their own project to design a garden, taking into account location, scale, cultural issues, plant selection, combinations, and succession.
