n the spirit of a New Year, we start this edition by declaring our own resolution, one that you can hold us by throughout the year, a promise that has the potential to not only define our future but the future of our city. January the 1st is quite literally the first blank page in a book entitled ‘Opportunity for Hull’, with 365 pages waiting to be written. Just like LOCO it is important that each page is filled with meaningful, progressive and aspirational content. The goal of this book is not to build a thriving metropolis, brimming with prosperity and abundance by 2017, it is to offer an alternative perspective, a glimpse into what the next five, ten, fifteen and twenty years could hold for the city. Our resolution to you is to help write this book and encourage others from all across the county to support, guide and promote the dynamic principles of positivity, ambition and innovation in Hull. How can you help? read the magazine, contact us about great stories that must be shared, give us feedback on what works and what doesn’t but most of all take inspiration from the stories that lay within; they are curated to spark ideas, encourage positive thinking and to contribute to the social and economic success of the place we call home. We start the January edition with a young woman that truly embodies this belief, Amy Dickinson, a face for City of Culture, is in her own words ‘just an average Hull lass’ and yet she has a funny knack of consistently being as far away from average as physically possible. Her passion for progress is compelling, her enthusiasm infectious but most importantly, she is a bloody good laugh. We are delighted to have her adorning our front

inson

cover and sharing her story with us in such a symbolic edition of the magazine. Turn the following pages and you will discover a colourful patchwork quilt of features, from restaurant reviews, recipe features and health & fitness guides to an exclusive interview with Yorkshire’s very own Gareth Gates, ahead of his debut performance in Footloose: The Musical at The Spa Bridlington. Finally it would only be right at the dawn of a new year to quite literally expand your horizons, courtesy of our winter travel feature. We have selected some stunning getaways, combined with an array of style tips to keep you looking your best whilst on your favourite winter break. And so now we welcome in 2016, full of opportunities that are yet to be seen, look upon them with hope not fear and have yourselves a happy new year.

“I’m so proud of where I come from – I’m a Hull lass born and bred so it was proper class to be asked to lark out for City of Culture!”

The POWER of PASSION PHOTOGRAPHY BY AMY JESSICA PHOTOGRAPHY

Amy Dickinson

H

ow time flies, we are now less than twelve months away from one of Hull’s proudest moments, when it will start the year of 2017 as the UK’s City of Culture. The national gaze will be upon us and it is our duty to come together in union, in order to showcase the wonderfully diverse talents and qualities that exist across our city. It is our mission to harness the area’s ever growing creative spirit and share with you, our readers, the people and the places that are passionately laying the foundations for the region’s future. We will endeavour to share these wonderful stories with you on a monthly basis, in order to inspire and cultivate a sense of excitement and enthusiasm ahead of our big year in the spotlight. We begin with a fabulous journey into the life of one of the faces of City of Culture, the super talented, hilariously funny and extremely humble, theatrical star and chef Amy Dickinson. From starring roles in West End productions of Les Misérables – Little Shop of Horrors, managing boutique hotels and swanky nightclubs, to now leading the team behind the rejuvenated theatre and restaurant Kardomah94. It is with no doubt in my mind, having seen first hand her infectious passion and unwavering determination to help others, that Amy absolutely epitomises and defines the often overused term ‘an inspiration’. Classically trained from the age of 6 and having extended her musical skills into opera singing aged 12, Amy went on to study drama at Nottingham University before taking up her first professional role – as an opera singer at Masquerade Balls in Nottingham’s famous Sherwood Forest. “It was very ‘Maid Marian and her merry men’ – totally pretentious, but I absolutely loved it,” she admits. From there, Amy left for the big smoke and ended up on the streets – that is, the cobbled streets of Covent Garden where she started ‘posh busking’, performing opera to passers by. In addition to regular street performances, Amy also went on to star in the odd West End show – Les Misérables… Little Shop of Horrors at the Criterion Theatre… Little Voice at the Bloomsbury Theatre, simultaneously juggling her passion for theatre and food with strong roles in management at venues like the five-star Soho Hotel and ever-popular Tiger Tiger nightclub. After what felt like a lifetime in the business, and wanting to pursue a more ‘normal’ and less ‘la-di-dah’ lifestyle, Amy decided to make her way back up north to begin new adventures. Back home in Hull, she was offered the chance to take over a greasy spoon and transform it into ‘Potters’ – a trendy, up and coming bistro nestled in the heart of Chanterlands Avenue. After a hugely successful two year run and with an award under her belt, Amy began to explore her underlying passion for helping people by looking into volunteering opportunities in the city. Toying with the idea of pursuing a career in social care, Amy began volunteering for Hull Churches, who she still works for one day

a week, supporting families where parents have been diagnosed with cancer. “It is important for me to give whatever I can, be that time or money, I get a real sense of enjoyment from helping people. Having completed various training courses, volunteered for Macmillan Cancer Support and loved every minute of working with the children, Amy was convinced her time in hospitality had come to an end. But whilst out volunteering one day she received a very mysterious voicemail from an unknown number simply asking her to ‘come down and meet the boys at Studio94…’ Intrigued by the peculiar message Amy took the plunge and headed down to Studio94, where ‘the boys’ – George Wilkins, Vince Furlong and Malcolm Scott – told her about their grand plans to open a brand new restaurant within the existing building that would be linked to its already successful theatre space. With an opportunity to run her own kitchen and combine two of her passions once again, Amy took the offer of the Head Chef and Venue Manager position as a sign that she should get back into the hospitality industry and she decided to make the boys an offer they couldn’t refuse…“I told them that I could roll out a pepperoni pizza and belt out show tunes at the same time…and that I’d make the restaurant as successful as their theatre – cue the floury jazz hands”, she explains. “At that moment when everything came together, it felt like I was properly ‘coming home’. Amy’s menu has earned the venue an illustrious reputation throughout the local area and beyond, with word spreading like wildfire about the creative pizza concoctions, mountainous antipasti boards, incredible cakes and fresh fish delivered from Whitby and Bridlington every Tuesday – not to mention the unrivalled portion sizes. “My dad once gave me a tenner for a school trip when I was about 10-years-old which I used to clear out the local shop’s entire supply of Kendall Mint Cake, so I think I’ve probably earned my right to go with the title ‘The Feeder’”, explains Amy. And it’s this quirky sense of humour that’s embedded in the whole Kardomah culture, from the wittily-named pizzas, including the recent festive specials ‘Gobble, gobble and get stuffed’ and ‘We wish you a Merry Fishmas’ to the staff’s home-from-home, friendly approach to customer-service all of which has attracted a loyal and varied following. “We get a real mix of diners in – it’s just so joyous that everybody can come here and have a jolly time, whatever their age, whatever their culture and whatever their taste buds fancy.”

“It is important for me to give whatever I can, be that time or money, I get a real sense of enjoyment from helping people”

After celebrating its first birthday and now, nearly two years in, Kardomah94 is firmly established as one of Hull’s hotspots and places to be seen. Alongside the food, the venue also serves up a gluttonous mix of culture, from art exhibitions and live performance evenings with local talent, including Amy herself, to internationally renowned music acts like soulful jazz singer Sarah Jane Morris and chart-topping, toe-tapping Canadian fiddle player April Verch. But it’s not just the performers that have soul. Kardomah94 also supports a wide range of charitable organisations, playing host to the monthly ‘Giggles Live’ comedy night, where all profits go to Hull and East Yorkshire Mind, and, during the school holidays, Amy runs hands-on pizza workshops for Hull Churches, in conjunction with MacMillan Cancer Support. Keen to exploit every inch of its potential, Kardomah94 recently brought back big screen images to the city centre, with the installation of a projector housed in the opposing building on Alfred Gelder Street, relaying locally produced short films, music videos and documentaries onto the exterior of the Kardomah building. The projector has provided the venue with an impactful way of showcasing the famous faces due to appear in the upcoming weeks and is another sign of the revolutionary work being put in place by the team at Kardomah94 to encourage forward thinking change within the city. The tables turned recently though when

it was Amy’s face that began to be plastered all over the city, after being selected as one of the ‘faces of Hull’ for the City of Culture team’s ‘More to the Story’ campaign. “It was all completely surreal but delightful – a couple of weeks ago I was at a business luncheon in the Lord Mayor’s chambers, which meant I could ditch the chef’s whites for the afternoon and put on a posh frock,” she says. “I’m so proud of where I come from – I’m a Hull lass born and bred so it was proper class to be asked to lark out for City of Culture!”. This final line epitomises Amy’s character and sense of humour, she never takes herself too seriously and is extremely modest in the face of her achievements. Her story is one built around the enduring principles of hard work, ambition and an unrelenting passion to change things. From performing to West End audiences and volunteering for MacMillan Cancer Support, to creating a revolutionary food and theatre venue in the heart of Hull. At the core of each experience is a simple desire to make a difference. We should take inspiration from Amy’s story and encourage more people to adopt the same approach, for ourselves and for our city, for now and for our future.

“A couple of weeks ago I was at a business luncheon in the Lord Mayor’s chambers, which meant I could ditch the chef’s whites for the afternoon and put on a posh frock”

like me may have started out doing theatre (my first role as a child and an adult was as Joseph!) so it’s natural to go back to that. Also performing every night on stage is what we do it for – if you genuinely love performing. Given the challenges you have faced with your stammer, how has this affected you when it comes to performing live in theatre? I’m not going to lie, it’s difficult for me – but it’s a challenge. I don’t turn anything down. I like to get the script as early as I can to start work on it and I have the support of a speech coach for the first couple of days in rehearsal. But once I’m rehearsed I’m fine. I’m playing someone else and I know the lines. For me having a stammer affects my spontaneous speech. It is clear that theatre is experiencing somewhat of a boom period regionally at the moment, with countless productions making their way from Broadway and the West End to local theatres up and down the country. What do you believe is the key driver behind this movement? I think it’s important to get shows out on the road. Not everyone can get to London – and it’s expensive to do so. Also the audiences up and down the country can differ greatly. There are some amazing theatres throughout the UK, so keeping them in business – as well as all of us can only be a great thing. I think it certainly helps having known faces in productions as well – as it can help a production get extra media attention and maybe take it to people that may have never been to a show before. This can only be a good thing if it brings more fans into the theatre – they may then go on and see other shows. In your eyes what makes the perfect musical theatre production and what has been your favourite to date? I would say my favourite was Les Misérables, the 25th Anniversary tour. We got to create a new version of the show. I worked with an amazing cast and that gets you to raise your game as well. As to what makes the perfect show? Well the music for me I guess. I trained in classical music and I play the guitar and piano, so I do have a good musical ear. If the music doesn’t excite me it would be ridlington welcomes a difficult one to do. Luckily I like a Footloose: The Musical wide variety of music! to the seaside town What attracted you to Footloose and in January as the what are the audience in for when bandwagon of musical theatre makes they take their seats at The Spa? I’ve also kept on touring with my band. I’ve had a lot of variety! It is becoming a popular trend for artists to make the move into Musical Theatre, what are the biggest differences and has it been an easy transition for you to make? It’s really hard to keep a pop career going. When I was in the charts it was all about TV like CD:UK, Top of the Pops… it naturally favoured pop artists. EXPERIENCE EVERYDAY EXCELLENCE

T

he Kings Head ethos is simple, ‘to be excellent in everything they do’. Whether you are looking for a chic and stylish bar, a cosy rustic restaurant or a contemporary boutique hotel, this wonderfully diverse venue will always go above and beyond each and every time you visit. The Beverley based business has, in the last 12 months experienced a complete and thorough refurbishment with vintage décor, a brand new kitchen and most recently 10 beautifully redesigned luxury bedrooms. The £650,000 transformation signals a change in approach for the town centre hotspot, with a move away from being a traditional ‘pub’ to becoming a more modern, stylish and welcoming space that offers an all encompassing hospitality experience for everybody, from families and

friends to business travellers and tourists. The most recent addition was the opening of the stunning executive bedrooms and suites that are set to rival anywhere in the region for class and comfort. The rooms are equipped to the very highest standards with prestigious White Company products accompanied by similarly luxurious furnishings and amenities such as roll top baths, Nespresso coffee machines and flat screen TVs. An overnight stay at The Kings Head also includes free Wifi, complimentary breakfast and even 20% off your food bill. General Manager Matt Clappison describes the new rooms saying, “we now have 10 first class hotel rooms with four different pricing options from the suite and executive to the super king and king size rooms. This allows us to cater for a variety of customers and their requirements”.

Newly refurbished, The Kings Head offers not only a beautiful setting for a quiet drink, excellent decor to accompany a fantastic meal but also a stylish and modern hideaway to rest your head with the elegantly revitalised overnight facilities

20%TUESDAYS VISIT ON A TUESDAY AND YOU WILL GET 20% OFF YOUR ENTIRE FOOD BILL

Dining at The Kings Head has also been completely revolutionised with a mouthwatering array of options now available from sandwiches to steaks. The advent of two unique pieces of kitchen equipment have created a truly unparalleled offering, with a wood fired pizza oven and Josper charcoal steak oven. The pizzas are produced with their very own dough recipe and can be ordered to eat in or takeaway. Provenance is a key component for the new menu with locally sourced beef coming from pure bred Limousin and Charolais cattle at Low Green farm in Yorkshire. The menu also includes a variety of sharing options such as grazing platters, which are great for groups looking for a light bite and a few drinks on an evening. Matt is delighted with the reception the restaurant has had so far saying “I’ve been here ten years and seen the development of our food offering, we started with a very basic pub menu and now absolutely everything is fresh, from the meat right through to the sauces. We have created a vibrant restaurant environment that really separates us from the masses”. It is not just the food that has a scrupulous level of focus on provenance and quality, with an unrivalled array of freshly made cocktails, locally sourced ales and boutique spirits there is more than enough choice to ensure that you have the perfect aperitif to partner your delicious meal. The evolution of The Kings Head takes place at a time of much change for the restaurant scene in Beverley. A small handful of independent eateries have recently closed down whilst national chains like

Carluccios have opened their doors just in time for Christmas. Matt believes despite the constant turnover in outlets, that there is still a real desire for more quality restaurants in the town centre and that brings further opportunity for venues like The Kings Head. “There is a thriving evening trade in Beverley but I think great traditional food is still hard to come by. We believe we are one of the only restaurants to offer high quality steaks and pizzas and they are quickly becoming our trademark”. The transition this establishment has made in recent years is a real indicator of the changing landscape in Beverley, with an increasing desire for many local businesses to drive home the importance of quality over quantity. Consequently choosing a place to eat, drink or stay in this historic market town has become an increasingly difficult decision to make. Nevertheless If you are searching for stylish surroundings, great food and a wonderful selection of drinks, served by a welcoming and personable team then we highly recommend you experience The Kings Head in Saturday Market, Beverley.

Given the pedigree of motoring we have here in East Yorkshire, from Le Mans 24 Hours winners and Formula One drivers, I’m delighted to be teaming up with LOCO to bring you a bit of motoring lifestyle in this column.

’m a motoring presenter, with a big dream of being a Top Gear Presenter. In each issue, I’ll scribble some of my thoughts on the current motoring picture, as well as bringing you a look behind the scenes at the cars I’m shooting. Oh, and I’ll keep you updated on ‘Mission Top Gear’, too. I’ve filmed a lot of interesting cars this year, but I reckon I saved the best to (almost) last. The Ferrari 308 is, perhaps best known for its role in the cult ‘80s TV show, Magnum PI. But you know what; it’s a classic Ferrari that is more important to the world of supercars than it has perhaps previously been credited with. Driving a Ferrari of any type is an exhilarating experience, if only to have ‘that’ badge staring back at you. But the 308 GTB has a typically beautifully crafted V8 and raw driving experience that makes you wonder why we even bothered trying to advance motoring technology beyond 1985. The Ferrari 308 is the supercar you imagine when you think of driving one. It’s muscular, loud, emotive and has a not considerable portion of brute force to match any amount of pedal pushing. Inside and out, it looks, feels and sounds like a supercar. Which is exactly what you’d want, right? I’ve just responded to an email from BMW January 2016 | LOCO | 28

UK, offering me one of their electric i cars, so we certainly did move on with car tech. My response was of course ‘yes please’, because I’m reliably informed that EV is the future of motoring. However, my head is for now at least still buried in the sand. So to watch my Ferrari film, just search for ‘Paul Woodford Ferrari 308’ on YouTube or follow my classic motoring channel on Twitter - @ClassicsDriven.

ARTS

A HOME FOR ENSEMBLE 52

W

By Artistic Director ANDREW PEARSON

e first met Mal Scott when he attended a show myself and Dave Windass had created called Euphoria. It was about club culture and took place round the Fruit Market district of Hull. Before the promenade production started I had one of the actors mingle with the audience and pretend to sell them pills. Malcolm was so angry that a ‘bad element’ were ruining the night that he got on the phone to the police. It was then that his daughter gently pointed out that it was probably part of the play. This conceit obviously tickled Mal and he offered us the opportunity to create work on the ground floor of his office building. At that time it was just an empty, open plan office space, but some fantastic stuff was created there. The glass office (where the restaurant entrance is now), was particularly effective, being used as the setting for an office romance in City Sketch then later in the year as a nativity stable for Janet Plater’s play Hull’s Angel So we were thrilled when Mal wanted to turn the site into a full spec venue with restaurant. Since then it’s gone from strength to strength. Kardomah is now Ensemble 52’s official home and the hub for our twice yearly Heads Up Festival of contemporary arts and performance. We premiered our recent production of A Devils Chord there before it transferred to London, and we have just finished a run of the now legendary Kardomah Christmas Cabaret which sold out in days and had people dancing in the aisles. There is a great atmosphere in the building, a real family feeling. It’s my kid’s biggest treat to go to Kardomah, have a pizza then come and play in our rehearsal space and office on the second floor and with a treasure trove of costumes, props and paints you can easily see why the venture on Alfred Gelder Street is inspiring people from 8 to 80.

HEALTH & WELLBEING

Right: Men’s Health Personal Trainer of the Year: Richard McKeating in his own private studio based in North Ferriby www.richmckeating.com

FIVE REASONS WHY YOU’RE GOING TO OWN 2016! Local Health & Fitness Guru Richard McKeating talks about staying focused on your goals at this testing time of year

Y

et another year is upon us, it will whizz by too quickly, and most people will go another whole twelve months having not achieved any of the intentions they set out in January. Another year, a little older and probably a little more overweight. But not you, it’s going to be different for you this time, no more broken promises, no more giving up. You’re going to own this year! And here are five reasons why. 1. You know it’s worth it, for all of the effort that you put in, the things you have to miss out and the sacrifices you have to make, you know that what you get back is worth ten times what you give. You’re not foolish enough to fall for the motivation trap. Most will give up as soon as the motivation runs out. The gym car park will be empty come March, which suits you fine, because you’ll keep on going, even when you don’t feel like it. You’ll make time for the important things, put yourself first, sacrifices will be made and there will be plenty of times you just don’t want to do it. But who cares, you’re not ten years old, you’re an adult. 2. You’ll eat well because you know it’s what you should do. Why does it have to be about taste all the time? Maybe you’ve already gone over your allowed tasty food quota. Don’t like veggies? So what? They’re good for you and that’s all that matters. Sometimes you’ll be a little hungry, you’ll learn to have tea without sugar, water instead of juice, it all adds up. 10% of the time you can let it slip a little, it’ll do you good and what’s the point in owning it if you can’t still enjoy food? January 2016 | LOCO | 36

3. You’ll exercise too, you’ll move because you know it makes you look sexy, makes you feel so much better, and you know damn well there are people less fortunate than you who would give anything to be able to exercise. 4. Nothing is going to stop you. Not people, not environment, not yourself, nothing. When they try to lure you away, when they whisper sweet justifications “a little bit won’t hurt you” you’re going to ignore them. When it’s your own voice saying it, you’ll acknowledge it instead of fighting it, and just carry on with your life with the same determined plan you had before. You’ll prepare too, there will always be healthy food available, sometimes fresh, sometimes frozen, but no excuses. 5. This Year is yours, because you and only you can make it yours, the next diet plan won’t “fix” anything, nor will the next new fitness craze. The only thing which is going to get you to where you want to go is hard work and determination. Your willingness to make sacrifices will see you through. Come January next year you know exactly how you want to look, you know what clothes you want to wear, you know how you want to feel and you know how your life will change. As of today you are that person, so act like it, today and every day. I’ve put together a four-week kick-start plan with a set nutrition pack containing shopping list, meal plans and recipes. You’ll also get home workout videos, regular inspiration emails and access to an online coaching group where I’ll help you along. All of this is free, I just ask that you make a donation to the Teenage Cancer Trust. Go to www.ownitthistime.com for more info.

To receive Richard’s

FREE 4 week health plan simply go to www.ownitthistime.com and enter your email address. All that is asked is for a donation to be made to the Teenage Cancer Trust by texting ‘Trip 75’, plus the amount you wish to donate to 70070

STEP CHANGE YOUR TRAINING

aving recently located Our resident health and fitness expert back home after my year in London, my Emily Young takes us on a tour of main concern was what on earth was I going to do without the cool East Yorkshire’s revolutionary new niche gyms that had become a key gym facility that is rapidly changing part of my everyday life down south. I had made it my mission to try just the image of training about every TRX, yoga class, HIIT Photography Provided By LATUS TRAINING workout, spin class and fitness @emilysjournal sensation that London had to offer. Every one seemed to be better then the next and I knew upon my return home I would struggle to find anything comparable. I’m glad to say that I couldn’t have been more wrong, when a few months ago I was introduced to Latus Training. The gym set up by ex-professional rugby playing brothers Sam and Jack Latus has recently gone through a major refurbishment, which has seen the entire facility revitalised, with state of the art equipment and modern training techniques. Though I must admit I became hooked on the Latus methods back when the guys were temporarily based in a sports hall, which proves to me that this facility is not a glamorous facade built on gadgets and technology, it actually lives and breathes the fundamentals of fitness. Coming from a triathlon specific training background, this is the first time I have dedicated any real time and effort into ‘gym training’, I honestly never expected it to become my favourite sessions and actually be considering substituting my other training days for an extra session at Latus. There is no doubt that new facilities are absolutely amazing but what makes this place so unique in comparison to all the January 2016 | LOCO | 38

other gyms I have experienced, is the coaches. Everyone at Latus manages to get you motivated and pushes you to want to work to your maximum effort. I don’t spend 10 minutes in the car before hand getting myself motivated, and once I’m in there I never want to leave. Everyone feels welcome and really excited about what they are doing and that feeling becomes not only infectious but addictive.

Sam & Jack Latus of Latus Training

Every time I train I feel like I learn something new and make some sort of progress. I went initially with very little idea of what to do in a gym and have to admit that I was slightly intimidated at the thought of it all, especially knowing Latus Training is a gym of choice for elite athletes such as Olympic Gold medalist Luke Campbell! Nevertheless it became obvious very quickly that everyone is so invested in you and your specific training goals, that you get a completely tailored approach to meet your own individual needs. You could turn up to Latus Training having never stepped foot in a gym before or as a professional athlete requiring daily support and there is no doubt that the whole team will be there to help you reach your potential. To top it off they have recently introduced a brand new range of varied group classes, that have happily replaced any that I was missing from my time in London. I can honestly say that after only a few months at Latus I couldn’t imagine training anywhere else! For more information you can visit their website at www.latustraining.com, call them on 01482 348142 or pop into the gym on Chanterlands Ave, Hull, North Humberside HU5 4EF

Humber Bridge Half Marathon to target record numbers following three-year sponsorship from Hudgell Solicitors

FEATURED: Officials from Hudgell Solicitors and The Rotary Club of Hull with some runners signed up, ahead of the 2016 Humber Bridge Half Marathon

O

rganisers of the Humber Bridge Half Marathon are confident the 2016 event will be the biggest in its 17-year history after securing a new three-year sponsorship deal with leading city law firm Hudgell Solicitors. Entries opened early for the 2016 event, which will take place on Sunday, June 26, as organisers are looking to attract increased runner numbers, and higher regional and national profile. It follows a record-breaking event in 2015, which saw more than 2,100 runners raise more than £38,000 for charities across the region by completing the 13.1miles course. Race director John Curry, of Hull Rotary Club, which runs the event with Barton Rotary Club and The Smile Foundation, said he was delighted to have extra support from Hudgell Solicitors until 2018. “It is really tremendous to have secured extra support from a business of the standing of Hudgell Solicitors, who importantly have not only committed to back us for one year, but for three, which will help us with long-term planning to grow the event significantly,” he said. “We feel we can achieve much bigger runner numbers. We see other races with many more runners, but our event is better, and our setting at the Humber Bridge can’t be beaten. “Those that do take part always say what a great half marathon it is, how well organised it is, how friendly it is, and how it is great value for money.” Neil Hudgell, managing director of Hudgell Solicitors, said: “The Humber Bridge Half Marathon has a reputation for being a great,

challenging sporting event which is competed in a fantastic spirit, so we are delighted to be involved,” he said. “We wanted to give our long-term support as we know how hard volunteers have worked over many years to make this event what it is today. Hopefully our support will help take it to the next level, bring more runners, raise the event profile and ultimately raise more money for good causes.” To sign up for the 2016 Humber Bridge Half Marathon go to www. humber-half.org.uk
