Nutley seeks gift cards for families in need

Treasure Chest, is funded completely by donations and has an amazing impact on these families, according to the township.

While out shopping for holiday gifts this year, consider picking up a gift card in the amount of $25 to local stores to donate to a family that is less fortunate.

The township asks for cards to stores such as Target, Shoprite, Kohl’s and Amazon. These gift card donations are given directly to Nutley families so they too may enjoy the Christmas holiday and every child can believe there really is a Santa Claus.

This program, called the Holiday

To donate, purchase a gift card in the amount of $25 and drop it off in a sealed envelope at the Department of Public Affairs and Health, located at 149 Chestnut St., Nutley. Please put your own name, address, phone number and e-mail on the outside of the envelope. All envelopes can be addressed to Sharon Bozza. The township asks that all gift card donations arrive in their office no later than Friday, Dec. 8. The time frame is important so that the gift cards will get to the families who will need some time to shop for their children.
