e’re yet to meet anyone who doesn’t think the new Auckland Council library system is fantastic. Fifty five libraries, with 3.5 million items available to borrow or browse. This includes books, e-books, music CDs, audio books, large print, DVD movies, sheet music and magazines. In East Auckland alone, there are seven libraries and a mobile library.
Become a member If you still have an old Manukau Libraries card, this will give you access to any library across the city. If you haven’t joined the library yet, what are you waiting for? Auckland residents and ratepayers can join for free, and subscription membership is available for everyone else. Non-resident students get free membership until their 18th birthday. To join, fill out a membership form online or at any Auckland library. Make sure you have photo ID (passport or drivers licence) and proof of your address with you to activate your account.
