Greetings from HERITAGE HUMANE SOCIETY! Dear friends: We are so excited to partner with the Virginia Gazette on this annual Parade of Pets! We love the opportunity to reach our community to let you know about the exciting work happening right here in our community, and to introduce you to some of the incredible pets waiting to meet their new “person.� Did you know that Heritage Humane Society is the only open-admission animal shelter in the Greater Williamsburg area, which means that no pet from our service area will ever be turned away? We take the medical cases, the behavior cases, and help the community members always have a safe place to get assistance. With 93% of our funding coming from private donations and program service revenue, your support is critical. To continue this quality of care, we need your help. Did you know that is costs nearly $3,000 per day to run this thriving organization? This year, the successes have been spectacular, and so have the needs. Unfortunately, the community funding has decreased. We are writing today to ask for your help. Making a donation will help us continue to provide these life-saving successes for the most vulnerable population here in our community, the pets. On behalf of the 252 pets in our care today, please consider finding a way to support the programs and services happening here in our community. Participate
in a dog training class, volunteer, foster, attend a special event, or open your home and heart for a homeless pet in need. No matter how you get involved, we would love the opportunity to help you find a place within our organization.
