Welcome to Blue Bash 2022! It is my honor to welcome you to the 2022 Blue Bash! I want to thank everyone who contributed to making this event a success. Our Blue Bash Committee, Board of Trustees, Parents Association, faculty/staff, sponsors and supporters have made Blue Bash a living promise of gratitude and generosity. I am grateful for this year’s Blue Bash chair, Marina Minasian, for her incredible leadership. I have a deep respect and admiration for how the Minasian family models what it means to be a Torrey family. Our gala's theme, Making Waves, speaks both to the contributions and vision of our school and to this very moment in history when the moral compass of humanity is challenged once again. The vibrancy of the school community, the strength of our students and families, and dedication of our faculty/staff are inspiring. You cannot walk on campus without feeling the passion of our school, the joy of learning and the energy that distinguishes our students. I am proud to be part of an institution that is so committed to fulfilling its mission of preparing individuals for a lifetime of intellectual exploration, personal growth and social responsibility. Together, we have embarked on a bold path to inspire greatness for a better world and to do it with dignity. The resources you provide the school allow us to meet the changing needs of our students and faculty, transforming ourselves year after year. It is no accident that LJCDS is increasingly spoken of as “The School” in San Diego. We have much work ahead of us to realize and sustain our vision of what our school and community can be. Timeless yet modern, the LJCDS tree brooch was carefully crafted of 18-karat white gold and adorned with 24 diamonds surrounding the iconic Torrey tree. This stunning Oli & Tess piece was designed and handmade by local master jeweler Polly Wheatley and her small team of artisans. Nothing was machine-manufactured; the smallest details were painstakingly considered by Polly and her master craftsmen throughout the entire process.
