After last years great indoor season the track team, with primarily all freshmen, finished fifth in the nation. The team was led by Co-captains Robert Dudley and Louis DeFreeze. The team finished well up in the final standings in the Florida Relays and then traveled to St. Louis where Larry Jackson gave an outstanding performance. Larry won the outstanding award for his impressive victories in the 100 and 220. Tri C ran well against the four year colleges in the Ohio Relays. Marvin Landingham set six records at the Greater Cleveland College Championships. Our mile relay team set a new school record of 3: 10.6 at the National Championships in Pasadena, Texas. The team finished sixth out of 125 teams entered. Also, the mile relay was the sec0nd fastest time ever run by a junior college. The mile relay team included Louis DeFreeze, Ralph Hale, Monroe Larkin, and Fred Worley. Louis DeFreeze finished 3rd in the 880 with a school record of 1:51. 3 .
