ADVANCED TECHNOLOGY ACADEMY What is the Advanced Technology Academy (ATA)? ATA prepares students for job opportunities in high-demand careers through classroom instruction and hands‑on, paid internships with local employers. Students are considered for full-time employment at the end of their internship. Most programs are 16 weeks or less, including job readiness skills training. Students who are eligible for the ATA program receive tuition, books, supplies and support services at no cost.

INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY A Tri-C® Center of Excellence

The IT Center of Excellence at Cuyahoga Community College (Tri-C) aims to increase the number of IT professionals trained for middle-skill careers in Northeast Ohio. Middle‑skill IT jobs pay an average of $53,000 per year – about 10 percent more than other jobs with similar educational requirements. The IT Center of Excellence provides streamlined pathways toward IT careers while being responsive to the needs of both industry and community partners. The IT Center of Excellence offers both shortterm and advanced certificates in areas such as IT project management and web application development as well as associate degrees in business solutions, programming and development, computer networking hardware, and networking software. The center also includes the Tri-C Cisco Training Academy/ASC, one of the most recognized academies in Ohio, offering a variety of Cisco certification training and short‑term certificates.

Cleveland Codes is a full-time, 16-week IT Fast Track Program. This fully immersive approach to learning provides students with the skills necessary to pursue a career in web application and development, learning to program C# within the .NET framework. Students take the Microsoft Development Fundamentals Exam 98-361 in order to receive their Microsoft Technology Associate (MTA) certification. Included in the 16 weeks of technical training is a 40-hour career development course, plus a capstone project that enables the student to build an application they can share with future employers. With successful completion of all program requirements, students will have the opportunity to connect with many resources to assist with internships and or job placement.

Other important information:

This program is highly competitive, and the application process has several steps. Cleveland Codes candidates must apply online, take an online skills assessment, complete a mini-project and participate in an interview in order to gain a spot in the program. Applications open three months in advance of the course start. Program description:

The MAP Academy is a series of courses when completed together results in four Microsoft certifications. Each Microsoft course covers levels one, two and three to prepare students to sit for the Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS) certification. Students will also receive career development and soft skills training. MAP Academy also provides career development, covering essential office professional skills such as keyboarding and interpersonal communication.

PMI® Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM®) is a hands-on program that is aligned with the Project Management Institute's Guide to the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK® Guide). This program is designed for those new to project management, changing careers or already serving as a subject matter expert on project teams and preparing to sit for the PMI-CAPM® exam. A Tri-C® Center of Excellence

Tri-C has provided high-quality law enforcement and fire training in Northeast Ohio since 1982. As a Tri-C Center of Excellence, the Public Safety Training Center continues to provide basic training through the police, fire, private security, corrections and bailiff academies; emergency medical technology programs; and advanced training for law enforcement and fire professionals. The center now includes Captioning and Court Reporting; Environmental, Health and Safety Technology; Criminal Justice and Paralegal programs as well. PUBLIC SAFETY The Law Enforcement and Fire academies at Cuyahoga Community College’s Public Safety Institute offer the opportunity for police and fire students to learn the skills and teamwork necessary to be prepared when called upon for duty.

Tri‐C’s Ohio Peace Officer Training Commission (OPOTC) certified program is designed for individuals seeking employment as a police officer in the state of Ohio. The open enrollment academy is also open to individuals who have been sworn with a department and need to complete their Peace Officer Basic Training. This paramilitary-structured academy includes all of the training mandated by OPOTC. The academy includes certifications in the following areas: HAZ‐MAT Operations Level, Taser Operator Certification, Active Shooter Training and First Aid/CPR certifications.

This Ohio Peace Officer Training Commission (OPOTC) certified course is designed for individuals currently employed or seeking employment in commercial/retail loss prevention, asset protection, private security or other private security officer functions. NONCREDIT REGISTRATION INFORMATION Payment Payment or appropriate information regarding payment (if your employer or an agency is paying) must be submitted at the time of registration. Accepted credit cards are MasterCard, VISA, American Express and Discover. Credit cards will not be accepted for in-person registration, but are accepted via online registration. A 2.4% service fee will apply to payments made by credit card.* Checks should be made payable to Cuyahoga Community College. A $30 processing fee will be charged for all checks returned for non-payment.

Cancellations You will be contacted by phone, mail or email if a course is canceled or changed.

Workforce Drops, Cancellations and Transfers/Refund Policy Need to drop your class? For workforce open enrollment courses, a full refund is given if a completed withdrawal request is received before the class begins. No refund is given after the class begins.

Withdrawal Requests Withdrawal requests must come directly from the student or his/her designee. The official receipt date is the day and time the request is received in the Workforce, Community and Economic Development Division/Corporate College registration office. All refunds are paid by check from Cuyahoga Community College District to the student regardless of the method or source of original registration payment. Please allow three to four weeks for the refund check to be processed and mailed to the address given at the time of registration. If there has been an address change, please provide the corrected address with your withdrawal request.

Withdrawals and Substitutions for Corporate College and IT Courses • A full refund will be issued to the registered student if a completed withdrawal request is received prior to five business days before the class start date.

• A 50 percent refund will be issued for withdrawal requests received on or after five, but prior to three business days before the class start date. • There is no refund for withdrawal requests received on or after three days prior to the class start date; no exceptions will be made. • If unable to attend, you may substitute another person at no additional cost; please notify of change or substitution at least one day prior to class start date. • Withdrawal requests must come directly from the student or his/her designee; the official receipt date is the day and time the request is received in the Corporate College registration office.

Concurrent with Credit Classes Continuing education courses that are “linked” with credit courses will adhere to the stated Workforce, Community and Economic Development Division refund policy.

Canceled Classes If Cuyahoga Community College cancels a class, a full refund is automatically processed for students who do not choose to transfer to another available class. Using contact information you have provided, College personnel will make every attempt to contact you in the event that a class is canceled. Please make sure we have a valid daytime phone number on file. You may also inquire by calling the Workforce, Community and Economic Development Division/Corporate College registration office.

Transfer Requests Students may request a transfer to another available section on a seat-available basis.

Continuing Education Units (CEU) One continuing education unit (CEU) is 10 contact hours of participation in an organized continuing education experience under responsible sponsorship, capable direction and qualified instruction. Continuing education units are awarded upon completion of demonstrated participation in an organized continuing education experience and are based on a minimum of 90 percent attendance and/or a competency evaluation. A student will earn all or none of the CEUs awarded.
