My personal experience in Palermo, Sicily from 7th November till 11th November 2012
My name is Livia Fernandez and I am studying Primero de Bachillerato. I am participating in a European education project called "Young People Futures". I've been lucky being in this project. Only eight people could participate in the project and there were many students willing to be chosen. I've been to Palermo, Sicily in early November with two of my class mates.

It has been great because we have had the chance to know each other better and closer.

I started my friendship with Arianna, my twin, a few days before the trip. I was very nervous and very excited about it. Arianna and I have many things in common:
The music because the two of us are musicians, we both have a dog and we are the oldest sister in the family. She and her family have been very kind and loving to me. A curious thing is that when they wanted to talk to me and we could not understand each other, we used to end up using the body language. It was really fun. The dog was the King of the house and he used to growl me a lot but I could touch him the last day.

It has been a fascinating experience. Being in another country, knowing another school, meeting new teachers from other countries and living with students not only from Italy but also from UK, Finland, Poland and Germany....... It has been an unforgettable experience.

Young Italians are very friendly and sociable, cared much for us. They wanted us to feel at home. They were always very attentive. I also made a lot of friends form different countries. One funny thing was that one of the Italian students played a song with a piano when we were working at

the Institute and it became our song. This song is very funny and means a lot of to us. It’s Heart and Soul. We became a big family.

All of us changed information about our lifestyles in school, in our homes, our habits....... It has been so interesting that I will always keep it in my memories.
The last night was very funny and crazy. We went to have dinner to a Pizza Restaurant in the center of Palermo, I believe. The Pizzas were very nice! And the saddest moment came….I had to say goodbye to all my friends.

The last morning in Palermo I went shopping with Ari around the city. I bought 6.5 kilos of pasta and souvenirs.
