LOCAL EATERIES TRIUMPH AT LIVERPOOL ON A ROLL Thousands of foodies and families from across the Liverpool local government area descended on Black Muscat Park, Chipping Norton, in mid-April for Liverpool on a Roll, Council’s premier food festival. They enjoyed a three-day triumph of taste, live music and open-air garden and arcade games. Liverpool Mayor Wendy Waller said the events brought the community together in support of local businesses who have braved the COVID-19 storm.

“We want to thank everyone who joined us for the return of Liverpool on a Roll. The event took on a different format compared to previous years, and we were thrilled to see how well it resonated with the community. We also want to thank our local food vendors who were integral to the event’s success,” Mayor Waller said. Event sponsors included: EXCLUSIVE LIFESTYLE MEDIA PARTNER

WORLD-CLASS FACILITY OPENS IN MIDDLETON GRANGE

ANZAC DAY COMMEMORATED VIRTUALLY

We are thrilled to announce the staged opening of Cirillo Reserve in Middleton Grange.

This year Liverpool City Council streamed a virtual ANZAC Day Commemoration Ceremony led by Major Walter Robinson OAM.

You won’t be able to catch a soccer match just yet as the fields are in an important phase of growth but that shouldn’t stop you from enjoying some quality family time with the kids at the playground. Get a workout in at the outdoor gym, take a stroll around the reserve or let your dog run leash-free at the new dog park which is now open.

Liverpool Mayor Wendy Waller said: “ANZAC Day reminds us of the sacrifice of others and of community. We had to mark ANZAC Day differently this year due to COVID-19, but the warmth and gravity of the occasion remained.”

A private Ceremony featuring local veterans was held by the Liverpool RSL sub-Branch in Bigge Park.

The Council’s resilience packages for local businesses helped many stay afloat and nearly 500 new businesses opened. The number of local businesses increased from 17,508 in 2019 to 17,962 in 2020. Liverpool Mayor Wendy Waller said Council’s strategies to support local businesses will continue.
