Soccer History

The sport called soccer has been on earth for about 2000 years . It started from kicking animals to kicking a ball. Records trace the history of soccer back more than 2,000 years ago to ancient China. Greece, Rome, and parts of Central America also claim to have started the sport; but it was England that transitioned soccer, or what the British and many other people around the world call “football, into the game we know today. The English are credited with recording the first uniform rules for the sport, including forbidding tripping opponents and touching the ball with hands. All these rules still consist today and also its popularity.

Soccer 2017

Lieke Martens’ year like no other has prised the crown of women’s football from Carli Lloyd. The new queen of the women’s game announced her move to Barcelona and excelled as her national team triumphed at UEFA Women’s EURO 2017. Voted Player of the Tournament, which was held on home soil, the vastly talented 24-year-old left winger scored three goals and provided two assists, though there was more to her performance than mere statistics.

Although having a hard year by not winning La Copa America, lionel messi is still maintaining himself in first place. Even with hard competition such as Cristiano Ronaldo, Neymar and much more, Messi has been doing great.
