JFK was definitely not alone running for president. His family and his friends help advertise. He had very hard competition against Nixon and fought a hard battle. It ended with Nixon having 49.55% and Kennedy having 49.72% of votes and Byrd having .73% of votes. JFK won the electoral votes and the popular vote and it was very close. And Kennedy barely winning the popular vote by 100,000 and winning the electoral by 100.

JFK Quotes And so, my fellow Americans, ask not what your country can do for you -- ask what you can do for your country.

Our most basic common link is that we all inhabit this planet. We all breathe the same air. We all cherish our children's future. and we are all mortal. We are tied to the ocean. And when we go back to the sea, whether it is to sail or to watch - we are going back from whence we came.

Abraham Lincoln Lincoln was born on February 12, 1809 Died on April 14, 1865

Abraham Lincoln is a really well known president, but do most people know why and how?

Why/How he’s known to most people We all know him as the 16th President, but why do we know him? During the time of slavery Lincoln was president and he found slavery very disgusting so he issued The Emancipation Proclamation. Although no one in the Rebel States followed the new law. Although no one followed the new law, this made people fight harder in The Civil War for everyone's freedom. One of the most important speeches in U.S. history, The Gettysburg Address, was made by Lincoln. He talked about freedom for everyone. In his speech he talks about how the people dead on the battlefield fought to keep what he said the Fathers built this nation on, That all men are created equally. He honored the fallen for sacrificing their lives to protect this Nation’s life and liberty. This speech, one of the most important speeches, was only 272 words and took only two minutes. Although it’s not long it impacted the meaning of this fight. To free everyone in this country.

Quotes by Lincoln Whatever you are, be a good one. Things may come to those who wait, but only the things left by those who hustle. And in the end, it's not the years in your life that count. It's the life in your years. America will never be destroyed from the outside. If we falter and lose our freedoms, it will be because we destroyed ourselves.
