1.Aurora Borealis- Shreyas In our world that has gone digitalis There are things that are beautiful Hike the icy winds of Greenland~ Where you see the great Aurora Borealis It will help guide your soul To the Light Palace

2. (Fight For) Hope By: Nicole Doris During a cold, lifeless night, the moon sat peering, hiding its lightA world seeming to hold its breath, waiting, watching, looking for hope; And I sat in the devastation- a group destroyed a nation, Why this destination to cast us into a downward slope? It is now on our front door meaning we cannot simply cope, Together we must keep hope.

I look out at the band of deep, dreary darkness holding the land, Wondering what is next, who is next to die by the hands of hatred. This world we have created- yet destroyed, we cannot avoidThe evil that we have employed has already been painted. Next generations have been set- futures already faded, Fight before we are wasted.

3. I Don’t Get It... By Kayla Vea Mina

Just a random thing… I always wonder, why do people change themselves to fit in? They change their attitudes, their appearance, just to fit in, Why do they think that they’re not beautiful? Why can’t they be confident of who they are? Like I just don’t get it… They don’t understand they’re worth it. Maybe we can be their mirror to help them see a little bit clearer, Help them understand that they’re beautiful just the way they are.

4. Bob- Paavan There once was a boy named Bob The one thing he did was rob He had to steal From McDonald’s a meal And now he’s the fattest blob

5. Tea Time- Afrah Qureshi The doughnut asked the scone, “Is it time for tea?” It is, replied the petit four , “I hope they don’t eat me!” The sausage breathed a heavy sigh, “At least it’s not yet dinner, And if they skipped that unreasonable course they’d end up so much thinner.”

Everybody sees through their own glasses Some with generous spite Others with faithful hope Some in a plethora of colors, others in plain black and white But they all see, no matter Everybody sees through their own glasses

7. Freedom- Karrie Smith His five year old body In a country with no smiles Where playing with dirt is the only hobby Where dead bodies line the streets for miles BOOM! BOOM! The familiar, strong sound blasts His tears hit the ground His life is gone if he doesn’t move fast All he hears are sad sounds

He has no more family or friends He has a shirt and tear stained cheeks He has no more loving hands Freedom is all he seeks We can come together Make is stop forever He is someone’s son WE can bring them together

8. Karrie- Sophia Siddiqui There once was a girl named Karrie One day she became a fairy But her spell went wrong And with a bong She became a little berry

The Sound of the Goordum Drums-Kesav Chandrasekar Did you ever perhaps listen to the sound of the Goordum drums, It had a sizzle with a bit of a tizzle, The sound would make birds screech and lions roar, It had a bang and a chang with a little bit of a stalang,

It had a snap and a neeact and you would have to stretch the “T”, The screaming of children rang through out each city, The Goordum drums would play one last note and then vanish into the clouds, The drums would come each year and the people would fear,

And the whole world would cry, “What a horrible noise I will have to hear!” What a horrible sound but the Goordum drums would still play,

My King- Amiya Anderson Since we first met,

Been down since day one,

My love has been in debt.

Because I knew you were the one.

Do you know how I feel?

I might not be your first anything,

Can I just keep it real?

But I will be your last everything.

I feel so many ways,

No matter how hard I have to fight,

And I've been thinking for days.

I’ll do it day and night,

But no words can describe that this isn't a

If that’s what it takes for you to belong to me

phase.

For an eternity.

You’re the love of my life.

That’s what I’ll do.

You’re my husband, I’m your wife.

Lucky- Madelyn Henry When I’m with you all is well

Finding someone like this

I forget about the problems

Someone who will always be. there

Forget about the world

That’s a blessing in itself

All I see is you

To have someone like you is rare

And I’m happy

But it proves I’m just that lucky

What are the odds of me finding you

To have you

Other Side Quynh-Giao Nguyen

Patriots Suck!!- Amitkumar Patil The Patriots suck. All they get is luck. I hate the Pats. They play like rats.

Should I remind you of deflategate Or how about spygate All they ever do is cheat But they think they can’t be beat

QB is Tom Brady Like a tree, he’s shady Head coach is Belichick He looks like a brick

What will they do next I cringe when they flex They think they’re so good. But they play like rotten wood

Ted and his Sled- Joseph Park There once was a boy named Ted He bought a cheap brand new sled He went down the hill And crashed into Bill And got a big knot on his head.

What makes this okay?- Maddie Knight When did it become okay, to treat the people you love with such dismay? You hit them and yell, and frightened they are. Don’t be cruel, don’t break their fragile hearts. They don’t understand, they thought you were their dad. You said you would never hurt them or be sad. They know about your problems, and they want to help. But all you ever do is hit them with your belt.

It’s always a race, to finish first Never last never second Victory is a hunger, a drive and a thirst Against enemies, who are also friends

_____________ Andrea Daniels

But if I slow, for just a moment I reach my unwanted end Defeat, the loss of victory The hare that lost the race Failure is a dreaded feeling, The sense of shame that must always face.

The Story of Ted- Joshua Yu Once upon a time There was a boy named Ted. Before the noon bell chime He ate four loaves of bread. Now Ted was unattractive He was as ugly as a toad. He was also hyperactive And had trouble crossing the road. One Tuesday Ted was eating his pie à la mode, When Brasso’s Hyundai* Came up along the road. Brasso saw Ted And gave a friendly wave, But the situation ahead Was about to be grave.

On the other side Came a rugged Jeep. The cars would collide And honk beep, beep, beep! But luckily for Brasso There was some barbed wire Ted threw it like a lasso And popped the tires! Now when the wire Caused those tires to pop, The cars in dire Skidded to a stop. .

Now ugly Ted Was the hero of the day And the word was spread Throughout the Milky Way. Stored in the archives Is the story of Ted, Who loved to save lives While eating baked brown bread

The Girl- Sreelakshmi Raghav She stands there

The freedom that makes her fly like a bird

Silent and still

The freedom that lets her soar through the skies

Listening to the people

They trap her in a cage

While they talk as they will

Filled with hatred and lies.

Oh what things they say

Oh if she could escape

What rumors that make

If only she could break free

But what they don't know

She could go above the rest

Is the freedom they take.

And be the girl she wants to be.

A Little Twist- Abdullah Ahmed Even with our colors or our shapes

But when they were wrong

Life is never what we think it is

Nobody changed their subject.

Maybe if the caterpillar flew its wings

So maybe if we fix this little glitch

We would see what was given to us

Everything will happen without a risk

But life is never what we think it is

So no more changes

So let's start to think once upon a time

Maybe we are better without them

Everything had a small little twist

Why don't you ask the fountain?

They gave us the power to fly all night And always thought everything would be alright

Fallen Apple- Usman Akbar A red blur passes by It bounces off a leaf Rolls down a branch Past a squirrel Onto the ground You just saw an apple fall

Before I go I had to tell you this I love you more than I’d love anything else I’m leaving because I can’t take it anymore because I’m never with you and it’s driving me crazy you’re always around when I’m not you say you’re in love with me and I’m sorry, it has to end this way.
