MOST MEMORABLE EVENTS OF 2017 The year 2017 was a year of many memorable events from getting a new president to the solar eclipse. Some of the things that happened in 2017 will go down in history and will be remembered for a long time. Let’s look back at some of the most memorable events of 2017.
New Year’s Eve Stunt : HOLLYWEED The year 2017 started off with a New Year’s Eve stunt, which brought many laughs but also scolds. On New Year’s the Hollywood sign was vandalized, it read “Hollyweed” instead of Hollywood. 41 years before this prank there were some other pranksters who pulled the same prank.
Total Solar Eclipse On August 21, 2017, a total solar eclipse darkened the skies from Oregon to South Carolina. This celestial event is a solar eclipse in which the moon passes between the sun and Earth and blocks all or part of the sun for up to about three hours. This was a very memorable event because the last solar eclipse happened in February 26, 1979, which was almost 3 decades ago, and we got to see something a lot of people don’t get to see.

Trump’s Inauguration The people of 2017 got to experience the inauguration of Donald Trump as the 45th president and Mike Pence as vice president. On January 20, 2017 at the United States Capitol, Donald Trump was announced president of the United States , and he will be the president for 4 years till the next inauguration.
So Many Hurricanes Another thing that shocked the people of 2017, and was really memorable were the hurricanes that occurred. Hurricane Harvey was one of the most memorable hurricanes. It took place from August 17, 2017 to September 3, 2017, Texas being the most affected state. Hurricane Irma was also another big hurricane and it took place from August 30, 2017 to September 16, 2017, it killed about 134 people, and the state that was mostly affected was Florida. 5

UNICORN...EVERYTHING
Unicorn hair, nails, bagels. Unicorns took over early 2017. They dominated social media. There seems to be an endless amount of Unicorn makeup videos, or pictures of people showing off their Unicorn hair. Starbucks released their Unicorn Frappuccino too. No one was left out on the unicorn trend.
SLIME
As a major trend on social media this year, it deserves to be recognized. You can find thousands of slime accounts on instagram dedicated to making, and selling their slimes. They record videos to show the slime, said to soothe anxiety. There are several types of slime, from Floam to Fishbowl slime, Butter slime to Metallic slime, they have been a huge hit. Also, Etsy is a huge platform for slime makers and buyers alike.
Bon électronique We’ve seen music, we’ve seen a couple of memorable events and social media trends. 2017 was filled with many things that became trends. Some other big trends include food and electronic items.
One famous food of this year is the cookie dough ice cream. The cookie dough ice cream came from the NYC’s Cookie Do shop. They have nationwide shipping. Another food trend of 2017 was released by Starbucks with their Unicorn Frap getting mixed reviews. The neutral goth ice cream also known as the black charcoal ice cream, was also another famous food trend this year. Making these/experimenting with these foods, spiked views of users on instagram.
One electronic device that was a popular was released by Samsung company with their new Samsung S8 having a long battery life, great camera, and waterproof screen. This was what was needed after the Note 7 disaster. (Batteries overheated and started to catch on fire.) Another popular electronic gadget was the Apple Iphone8. The iphone 8 had durable glass front and back., more advanced cameras., the powerful new A11 Bionic chip, and wireless charging.
