ENLIGHTER MAGAZINE COVERH Overview: “Enlighter Magazine provides a high-quality and objective information service for the Lighting Design community. It is an up-to-date online magazine that continuously publishes high quality work by the leading lighting designers and artists as well as emerging new talents in the field. Challenge: The brief is to design the branding / cover art / page lay out of Enlighter magazine. Solution: By using a light painting-technique I designed the cover to be energetic and to reach a non- online audience as if it were a physical magazine, competing on a rack with other professional magazines.

CD COVER Overview: Music follows us wherever we go and if your life would be a movie, which soundtrack would it have? Challenge: Design a project based on a piece of music that describes your way of life. Solution: I chose to use the lyrics and melody from Phil Collins song “On my way” from Disney’s “Brother Bears” because this song describes my personality and my way of life the most.

ALCOHOL AWARENESS CAMPAIGN “Graphic design artist Lisa Guhl from Berlin, Germany created this alcohol awareness advertisement with drunken Barbies as the stars. The dolls sit and look passed out in front of a whole shelf of bottles with speech bubbles like “Come on Barbie, let’s go party!” In bold font the words “We are not living in a Barbie world” send a fierce message, especially to children, that contrasts the wild representation of drugs and alcohol in the media. From music videos to television, children are constantly bombarded with the glam and popularity of party life and this alcohol awareness ad aims to shoot those messages down and share a harsh reality. At first glance, the ad seems pretty funny with Barbie’s makeup dripping down her face and her skimpy prom dress all in shambles. As you scroll through the images you will see a more real and scary message being conveyed. It is certainly a bold and creative way of illustrating a very common issue.” Text by Sarah Dos Santos http://www.trendhunter.com/trends/alcohol-awareness

GENETIC ENGINEERING Challenge: Research a chosen organisation and produce a piece of work that can be used to create an awareness campaign. Solution: My idea was to convey the message “you do not always eat what you see because I wanted to create awareness of the chemical adjustments companies make to modify plants. Therefore, I decided to represent this in a symbolic way: the mirror tells the truth.
