DEDICATION

A graduate of Limestone, Dr. Albert Bernard Cline further pursued his education to enable him to teach and become a Certified Public Accountant. After succeeding in his own CPA practice, he returned and dedicated more than thirty years of his life to his alma mater. He has portrayed many roles here at the "Rock" -committee member, advisor of students, Academic Council member, professor of accounting and business courses, and designer of the bookkeeping system. But through all that, he still made time to playa round or two of golf. As a firm believer in "practice makes perfect," Dr. Cline has broken the record at Limestone with the most tests given in a single semester. There is no doubt, his teaching methods have encouraged us not only to learn the "principles of accounting," but also the "principles of success." "Success by hard work" defines his philosophy of education and we do thank him for the reality of "no silver platters." "In the Business world" is what he has strived to prepare us for; in addition, we stand ready to challenge the real world. Dr. Cline has been a great ASSET to Limestone College throughout his thirty-two years of dedicated service. As he retires, we the senior class would like to CLOSE OUT HIS ACCOUNT and CREDIT him with the dedication of the 1985 Calciid.

Limestone now has a chapter of Alpha Chi, the national college honor scholarship society. This chapter is the South Carolina Gamma chapter. The ideals of Alpha Chi express truth and character in all campus relationships. To be a member, a student must be a junior or senior in the top-ranking 10 percent of his / her class.

Limestone has a chapter (Tau Psi) of the largest national honor drama tic fraternity, Alpha Psi Omega. Its purpose is to foster and promote interest in the dramatic arts and to uphold the highest ideals and standards of theatrical achievement. Membership consists of enrollees in theater classes, either past or present, and new pledges are accepted during the spring semester for the following year. 92

Membership in L.O.R.E. is open to any student at Limestone. Organizational activities include several trips during the academic year, planned around the members' and their guests' interests, such as rappeling, backpacking, hiking, and so fourth. Under the guidance of the Dean of the College and the Dean of Students, the Orientation Chairpersons and the committee work together to help each new student adjust to college life. On the first day of school, members of the Orientation Committee are on hand to greet the newcomers, to help them get settled, and to acquaint them with the most vital aspect of the college-Limestone Spirit. Throughout the first week of school the members of the freshman class take placement tests, attend meetings, special programs, and social events, all of which are intended to make the new student feel at home.

OUR FATHER, WE THANK YOU FOR THE PRIVELEGE WE ENJOY AS BROTHERS IN THE SACRED BOND OF THE LAMBDA MU SIGMA FRATERNITY DRAWING US CLOSER TOGETHER AS IT DOES WITH THE MYSTIC TIES OF FRIENDSHIP. WE PRAY THAT YOU WILL LOOK DOWN UPON US, BE GRACIOUS UNTO US AND ASSIST IN OUR EFFORTS TO BE TRUE BROTHERS IN THE BOND OF BROTHERHOOD WITHOUT MALICE, ENVY OR ARROGANCE. IMBUE US WITH THE TRUE SPIRIT OF BROTHERHOOD AND INSTILL IN OUR HEARTS A KINDNESS AND SYMPATHY AND A MAGNANIOUS SPIRIT IN OUR DEALINGS ONE WITH ANOTHER. FINALLY WE BESEECH YOU T O GRANT US STRENGTH TO HOLD TO OUR PURPOSE IN THE FAITHFUL PURSUIT OF OUR BELOVED IDEALS.
