It  began  with  a  fateful  encounter  in  the  early  1990s,  when  two  students  in  Vienna,  Austria,  stumbled  upon  the  Lomo  Kompakt  Automat  –  a  small,  enigmatic  Russian  camera.  Mindlessly  taking  shots  from  the  hip,  and  VRPHWLPHV ORRNLQJ WKURXJK WKH YLHZŹQGHU WKH\ ZHUH DVWRXQGHG ZLWK WKH mindblowing  photos  that  it  produced  –  the  colours  were  vibrant,  with  deep  saturation  and  vignettes  that  framed  the  shot  –  it  was  nothing  like  they  had  seen  before!  Upon  returning  home,  friends  wanted  their  own  Lomo  LC-ÂA,  igniting  a  new  style  of  artistic  experimental  photography  Zoe
that  we  now  know  as  Lomography!

Try this!
If you don’t have a toy camera you can try these tips & tricks with any disposable camera.
SMACK SOME EXTRA EXPOSURES OUT OF IT &KDUJH \RXU źDVK DQG VPDFN \RXU GLVSRVDEOH FDPHUD RQWR \RXU źDW SDOP 7KLV FDQ IRUFH WKH shutter open and create double exposures. LENS FILTER! Try using colored marker on packing tape, coloring directly onto your lens, using your sun- glasses or soda pop bottles, or holding a prism in front of the camera! USE 2 DISPOSABLES TO MAKE A 3D 3D images are created by taking two simulta- neous photos from slightly different angles.

DAMAGE THE LENS! Nope, they’re not nuts. Scratching your lens with different objects (like a screwdriver) can produce gorgeous effects. DAMAGE THE FILM! Again, this might sound weird, but it’s pretty cool. Try tossing your disposable into the freezer, or letting it sit somewhere hot.

01. Take your camera everywhere you go Like any passion, you can never plan or predict Lomography. It’s like your inner voice and your deepest desire working at the same time. Lomography is waiting around the corner to say “Hey good looking, wanna go for a ride?” the best photos come out of spontaneous, impul- sive situations and that many are therefore never taken, simply due to the lack of a camera.
02. Use it anytime - day & night You don't only perceive in sunshine, daytime, on holidays and on Aunt Frida's birthday, do you? So keep shooting in any environment, every day and every night, be aware, and create yourself, your being, your design. Shoot restlessly and give your memory a kick in the ass with your lovely, crap, beautiful, artistic and silly Lomographs.
03. Lomogrphy is not an interface in your life, but a part of it As a Lomographer, you are not only photographing a situation, you are an essential part of the situation itself. Life inhales Lomography and Lomography inhales life. You laugh and you Lomograph, you cry and you Lomograph, you think and you Lomograph, you love and you Lomograph and you Lomograph and you Lomograph.

Approach the objects of you lomographic desire as close as posible Lomography is part and mediator of your relationship, good morning, click, the camera helps you to get to know your motives and is a good reason to talk to someone at boring parties. Click click, that's gonna be a nice picture, click, can I send it to you by email?, click, wonder- ful, click, I love you, click, communicate, talk! 07.  Be  fast Movements,  actions  and  Lomographic  moments  are  not  reading  the  paper  and  waiting  for  you  to  take  pictures  of  them...the  pool  attendant  with  the  big  belly,  the  dance  champion  with  the  tight  dress,  WKH GRJ ZLWK WKH SLQN WLH WKH EXV GULYHU ZLWK WKH IDW JODVVHV \RXU GDG LQ WKH VKRZHU %HOLHYH XV WKH\ are  not  crazy  about  you  taking  pictures  of  them  â&#x20AC;&#x201C;  but  you  certainly  are! Â
<RX GRQĹ&#x17D;W KDYH WR NQRZ EHIRUHKDQG ZKDW \RX FDSWXUHG RQ ĹšOP Lomographs  always  emerge  from  a  plethora  of  different  and  unexpected  situations,  ideas,  views  and  intentions.  To  Lomograph  or  not  to  Lomograph?  You  do  it  because  it's  great  fun,  because  it  makes  you  curious,  because  it's  very  exciting  to  know  that  you  never  know  what  you'll  get  and  because  it  allows  your  creativity,  intuition  and  inspiration  to  soar  heights  you  never  imagined!
