The gospel movement in New York IS GAINING MOMENTUM.

GOD HAS LONG BEEN AT WORK IN NEW YORK CITY.

Through the recent growth of the body of Christ in historically secular center-city and the continued impact of the immigrant gospel-believers who began to fill the outer boroughs in the 1970’s, we are now experiencing a gospel movement marked by extraordinary unity. Expressions of the Church that were previously isolated within boroughs or siloed within denominations are now beginning to come together. New and longstanding communities are learning from each other and working together to multiply expressions of mercy and justice. This groundswell of gospel renewal is gaining momentum in ways that could have tremendous influence on the character and life of the city.

TWO YEA RS AGO …

We asked you to “rise where you are” and say “I’m in” to this vision of multiplying the number of Christians in center-city New York. You responded by both committing financially and reimagining how to integrate the gospel with your life in the city. As we celebrate the two-year anniversary of Rise, let us give thanks to God for his faithfulness and provision. He has guided us through the transition from one church to a growing family of three churches, the launch of Lincoln Square, and the re-energizing of how we foster deep, consistent spiritual formation.

1

Since the start of Rise in 2016, your generosity has helped leaders launch 27 new churches through Redeemer City to City and one Redeemer Presbyterian Church daughter site. Over 15 more churches are in preparation to be launched in the next two years.

Our values of community, discipleship, and creativity guide our decision making, methods, and culture. Our mission of spreading the gospel pushes us to be intentional in all our walks of life. It’s been fifteen months since we started—it’s hard to believe it’s been that long, but also that short. We continually praise God for his goodness in choosing us for this special work in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn.” — J U S T I N M AT T E R A Pastor, Zion NYC, Incubator Alum

ASHLEY KERR Masters Candidate in Biblical Studies “Learning and receiving seminary training directly in the city, I get to see the whole spectrum of need for the gospel. It’s renewed my love for the city; I’m willing to stay and serve as long as God wants me to.”

NEW HOMES NEW BUILDINGS

REDEEMER EAST SIDE Pray for a permanent home for Redeemer East Side which will solidify an anchor church in the center-city, foster belonging, renew the neighborhood, and be a public utility for all to share.

Pray that God would provide: the right property in this lengthy search, a seller who would be kind to us, and a price slightly below or at market price.
