We are track cyclists who strive to create performance for the velodrome, with a focus on lightweight aerodynamics. We are messengers with decades of experience riding brakeless track bikes on the street, who have come together to help develop products that withstand the abuse of pounding city streets everyday. We are racers who compete every weekend and commuters who ride to the office. Weâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;re a group of cyclists who lives with bikes and we make bikes for others that do, as well.

STARTED ON THE TRACK, ADAPTED FOR THE STREET We didnâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;t go knocking on the door of urban cycling. We were invited. The 735 was created in 2003 to ride weekly on the track, as a way to push our boundaries as well as track bike design. A phone call from a messenger who needed help after a wreck on his Leader revealed a rich culture of riding track bikes outside on the street. Since that time we have worked with those cyclists to rethink the ride and to push the envelope of urban cycling. LB/2015

INTEGRATED SEATPOST CLAMP

If there’s one thing we’ve learned in over ten years of manufacturing the 7-series it’s this: you’re only as fast as the street will allow. A lightweight race frame is no use to you if it can’t hold up to the pot holes, lock-ups and everyday wear and tear of your daily grind.

CAN’T BE STRIPPED The most known problem with integrated seatpost clamps is their ability to be stripped if the rider overtightens the securing bolt, thus ruining their frame. With Leader’s new design, this seatpost clamp cannot strip as it does not thread into the frame but rather a locking nut on the opposite side of the bolt. Therefore in the unlikely situation the bolt is overtightened, a replaceable locking nut is the only part of the bike that will be damaged. NO SLIPPAGE Common seatpost clamps are only secured with a single bolt. In some cases, this bolt might not be enough on it’s own to prevent the seatpost from gradually slipping during riding, no matter how much it is tightened. Leader’s new design features dual securing bolts, ensuring the seatpost is held firmly at the desired height. SOLID CONSTRUCTION With the newly designed integrated seatpost clamp the 725 and 735 frames feature a solid seat tubeto-seatpost construction. This eliminates any weak points in the seat clamp area, ensuring a safe ride and a long lasting frame.

The 721, 725 and 735 make up our 7-series line of frames, featuring oversized aero aluminum for a stiff ride that’s light and nimble. Eight coats of paint form a hard shell that resists dings and scratches, while doublebutted aluminum tubing is reinforced where you need it most.

TAPERED HEADTUBE New for 2015 for the 725 and 735 are highend features that employ form and function. Both now feature an integrated seat post clamp that keeps the seat post exactly where you want it during your ride. Two bolts threaded into locking nuts - rather than the frame itself - prevent damage to the frame through accidental over-tightening.

For those of you on the track or racing competitively with their 725/735 we’ve added a tapered head tube. With a design which is larger at the top then it is at the bottom the rider will notice three main benefits:

LESS FLEX The 725 and 735 are known for their large aero downtubes. Our new tapered head tube takes advantage of their oversized tubesets, by increasing stiffness as the area where the two meet is much larger.

BETTER FORKS The wider bottom portion of the head tube allows for stiffer and stronger fork crowns. Our I805 and I806 forks have been redesigned to capitalize on this benefit

NOTE: The I805 and I806 forks for 2015 feature tapered steer tubes to take advantage of these new benefits. These 2015 forks are designed to only work with tapered head tubes. Please note however our I803 carbon fork will work with all past Leader 725/735 models featuring the standard pipe style head tube.

SMOOTHER RIDE The larger bearing of the headset used for a tapered head tube handles impacts and dissipates bumps in the road more efficiently then a standard pipe style head tube.

TEAM LEADER The fixed gear crit is the great equalizer, where road racers push their fitness against the bike handling and finesse of messengers. Straight aways allow for all out pedal to the metal speed, with u-turns and chicanes forcing riders to have complete control of a brakeless bike without the ability to coast. With the rise of this style of racing, we formed the Leader Bikes race team: a group of riders from backgrounds up and down the cycling spectrum. Legendary messengers pushing side by side with velodrome champs towards the podium. Wolfpack Hustle has long been the Southern California race series where riders from around the world travel to prove their merit on the closed off streets of LA in fixed gear crits. This past season saw Leader Bikes dominate race after race, culminating in a win of the Wolfpack Hustle Unified Title Series team overall and menâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;s individual overall against some of the toughest competition fixed gear has to offer.

CURE COMPLETE A little more than a year ago, Sal Lombroso, founder and owner of Leader Bikes, embarked on a battle with pancreatic cancer. After the diagnosis, the cancer research facilities at UC San Diego began administering treatment. Dr. Andrew Lowy, a world-renowned surgeon at the UCSD Moores Cancer Center known for his work with pancreatic cancers, was able to successfully cure Sal and put him on the path to recovery. LB/2015

Today Sal has made a complete recovery, and with that has created the Leader Bikes “Cure,” which he has dedicated to Dr. Andrew Lowy. With clean lines and pursuit style geometry, a portion of the proceeds from sales of every Cure will go to funding Dr. Lowy as he continues his research into new techniques and practices in his fight to cure cancer.

CRETIN COMPLETE Sometimes riding your bike isn’t about racing or the commute to work, it’s about just heading out the door to have a good time with friends. With that in mind, we turned to our friends the Cretins, a local San Diego cycling club, to work on a bike that’s all about the fun ride. An eclectic group of DIY punk rockers and specialists in having a good time on a bike, the Cretins promote bike awareness and raise money for good causes through community-based events like local group rides and larger scale charity rides.

Our ethos when we took to the drawing board was to make a bike that embodies the same less-stress, more-riding ideology of the Cretins. Compact drops allow for multiple hand positions, carbon and alloy parts keep the build light and absorb some of the impact of riding on the street, and a single speed/fixed hub means less maintenance and less worries. The Cretin is a no-nonsense bike built for the casual urban rider with Leader’s same high standards.

KAGERO We have developed two frames in our collaboration with Patrick, both reference the early days of track cycling when oversized tubing was king. The Kagero and Renovatio feature classic aesthetics with modernized geometry concepts. The Kagero features the sloping top tube giving of pursuit geometry, a geo that was favored by time trialists of the 90s.
