To help with the revitalization of this desiccated edifice, The Starwood Capital Group honcho Barry Sternlicht and Richard LeFrak, brought on board Debora Aguilar. Celebrated Brazilian interior designer and architect, Debora Aguiar, is in charge of designing the residences. The conceived plan for 1 Hotel & Homes South Beach uses the colors and textures of nature to bring a fresh aesthetic to its interior spaces. Reclaimed materials and natural elements adorn almost every facet of the property. Gardens and sand-floor cabanas on the pool deck blur the distinction between the built and natural environments, thus blending both urban and rural features of Miami Beach.

“I am enticed by this place and an opportunity to turn this pumpkin into a carriage”. Richard LeFrak Design elements in each unit were created to emphasize the exceptional qualities of living in one of Miami Beach’s best locations. Extraordinary views of the sky and sparkling Atlantic Ocean or Miami’s dramatic skyline are fused with the composition as oversized windows and sliding glass doors allow for an abundance of natural light, as well as expansive private balconies to enjoy the rising and setting sun. “Our vision for the rooms is a natural look

mixed with modern concept. In some rooms we will have art covering the walls and in others we’ll have art adorning the ceilings. There will be direct light to create cozy atmosphere,” says Deborah Aguilar who is well known for her beautiful and sophisticated approach to design. The kitchen is perhaps the most direct example of 1 Hotels & Residence’s bond with nature. Their unwavering focus on details brought them to connect with partners of the same perspective, such as the world renowned chef Tom Colicchio. Chef Colicchio has built his career by understanding how each piece is important to the whole. “What drew me to this project was a lot of the design elements, and the idea that it is environmentally friendly, which is very important to me. In my restaurants all of my meats are antibiotic free and mostly organic. So this idea that you’re doing something friendly for the environment works for me and feels natural. It is something that I was always excited about, so it was very easy to grasp the concept and understand what they’re trying to do here,’” says the American celebrity chef who owns and operates a slew of successful restaurants in New York City and Los Angeles. The Top Chef judge is yet to name his Miami Beach restaurant but he assures that it will be a farmto-table concept, with a specific concentration on seafood dishes with Mediterranean flavors, and will feature locally sourced produce. 1 Hotel & Residences is set to swing open the gates to their tropical oasis in the fall of 2014. reen is in this season in Miami. Notorious hotel-condominium multiplex formerly known as Gansevoort South and later as the Perry South Beach, is being reborn. This time however, as 1 Hotel & Residences South Beach. The eco-friendly project bloomed as a result of a joint venture between the LeFrak Organization, Starwood Capital Group, and Invesco. The spectacular property will include 161 residences plus 406 hotel rooms with four swimming pools and 600 linear feet of pristine beach. The focal point of this beachfront luxuryhotel living, is nature and sustainability. 1 Hotel & Residences South Beach, the brainchild of Barry Sternlicht, chairman of Starwood Capital Group and the creative force behind the W brand, presents a unique environment for homeowners to enjoy a nature-inspired aesthetic and atmosphere. Sternlicht is combining his vast experience and talents with Richard LeFrak’s real estate development expertise to bring to Miami a truly extraordinary property. “This project, however challenging, is very special to me. The property has an amazing location in the center of South Beach. I am enticed by this place and an opportunity to turn this pumpkin into a carriage,” Richard LeFrak tells Le CITY deluxe in a recent interview. Albeit, the run down structure will remain untouched. “This is an old building and we could’ve demolished it, but leaving the facade was very important. Nevertheless, we’ve redone all of the mechanical systems and made it more energy efficient. On top of that, we’ve made a conscious effort to use materials that are sustainable and are able to regenerate themselves,” says LeFrak.

t’s not long after you arrive in this part of the Gulf that you experience the distinctive aroma of incense. The sweet, woody scent of frankincense is pretty much everywhere in Oman, a legacy of the Sultanate´s ancient 5,000 year old trade in the fragrant resin that was once more valuable than gold. Exploring the fascinating ‘Frankincense Route’ is a great way to immediately immerse yourself into the rich history and culture of this Arabian kingdom. A day or two experiencing the magic of this ancient trading route dating back to the Middle Ages is the opportunity to see the remaining wild groves of ‘Boswellia sacra’ trees from which is harvested the perfumed sap for frankincense. Along the route are remarkable palaces, castles, forts and archaeological sites. Even before UNESCO designated many of these breath-taking historical locations as World Heritage Sites, Oman had preserved its cultural heritage, and here you really feel that this is the storybook Arabia, untouched by brash commercialism. The Sultanate of Oman, one of the oldest Gulf Kingdoms has been slower to develop its international tourism sector, allowing it to ‘watch and learn’; seeing the highs and lows of mass tourism visited upon its neighbours. Oman, home to those twisted, aged frankincense trees; seductive fragrances and world heritage architecture is a destination for the more discerning traveller. It is fair to say that here is where one finds genuine Arabian hospitality, charm, and adventure – all without the ‘bling’. With some 3000 kilometres of coast, the grandeur of its rugged and mountainous interior, as well as verdant valleys and quintessential Arabian oases, this small nation offers more than its fair share of mystique and beauty. Nature lovers, photographers and adventure activity addicts were amongst the first to discover this emerging destination; yet now with the opening of new luxury resorts and upscale hotels, it is also attracting vacationers that want to relax and be pampered in an unspoilt environment. Alila Hotels’ new ‘Jabal Akhdar’ mountain resort, (meaning “The Green Mountain”) is one of the world’s most anticipated new hotel openings of the year. Welcoming guests later this month; this contemporary styled hotel is within the dramatic Al Hajar mountain range, overlooking a stunning gorge. It is a luxurious, privileged base from which to explore the nation’s natural heritage including the highest peak on the Arabian Peninsula, ‘Jabal Shams’, (the ‘Mountain of the Sun’), and one of the world’s great canyons, the ‘Wadi Nakhar’ravine.

Resorts such as these are putting Oman very much on the luxury travel map. With a coast that faces the Arabian Sea, and also out towards the Indian Ocean, Oman has one of the most spectacular shorelines in the region. Discover pristine beaches, deserted bays and sparkling lagoons with abundant wildlife, or lose yourself with a sundowner, watching an Indian Ocean sunset; these are certainly panoramas unexpected in a desert nation. For those with a passion for eco-travel, Oman is developing more accessible ways to enjoy the environment including luxury camping in the desert, or the unique opportunity to stay close to coastal habitat where marine turtles nest; both are unforgettable experiences.

"A short distance from The Chedi is Muscat, the country´s capital, a modern port city that unlike many of the fast growing capitals" One of the pioneers in Omani luxury hospitality, The Chedi Muscat, takes the classic beach resort to a new level, with not only exceptional sea views but also a background of dramatic mountains. This elegant, oasis-styled resort of guest suites and villas includes one of the country´s finest restaurants. This is the favourite for a Champagne brunch. A short distance from The Chedi is Muscat, the country´s capital, a modern port city that unlike many of the fast growing capitals of its oil-rich neighbours has still retained its old world charm. With the wealth created by a centuries old maritime Empire, the contemporary city skyline is still punctuated by forts and ornate, golden minarets, and opulent palaces, giving the city a seductive ‘Arabian Nights style. This mix of romantic tradition and flawless modernity is strangely compelling. The impressive Royal Opera House arts complex is a visible icon of the nation’s vibrant creative scene, whilst the historic souks, traditional markets, continue to do a roaring trade. It’s a fun way to pass a morning enjoying a good humoured barter over a local handicraft, some frankincense resin or something a little more substantial, like some

intricate jewellery. In the evening head down to the lively Corniche, the city´s immaculate beach, and relax in one of the contemporary cafes; this is the face of the modern Oman, with a vibrant, energetic ambiance, yet scented with sweet perfume of frankincense. Oman is embracing the future with refined luxury, but thankfully not letting go of its enticing past

Cartagena de Indias

The Perfect Long Weekend Fall under the spell of the Columbia’s finest colonial city

fortress-like architecture with tightly-packed merchants’ houses with heavy studded doors, protected behind thick city walls that remain today.

"Baroque towers and elaborate arches surround tranquil squares where residents sit and play cards." Within the ancient city walls, is the genuine heart of Cartagena, a place Gabriel García Márquez, Columbia's most celebrated author, called home for a few years when he was a young journalist on a local paper. The city’s intoxicating streets left an indelible mark on

his psyche, shaping and defining the flavor and atmosphere of his fictional locations in works including ‘Love in the Time of Cholera’. Step out into the cobbled streets in the early morning and one captures an essence of the romantic city that inspired García Márquez. Baroque towers and elaborate arches surround tranquil squares where residents sit and play cards; flowering bougainvillea and geraniums spill out from the terraces of pastel-painted buildings; street vendors offer a warming cup of ‘café con leche’ from colorful flasks packed together on a small wheel barrow; whilst food vendors cut and prepare a sweet tropical fruit treat, or offer piping hot fritters. Dilapidated, vintage trucks compete for space on the narrow lanes with horse drawn carriages, whilst youngsters flirt in shaded doorways on their way to the university. The city compels you to photograph it, almost to excess. At every turn there is something fascinating, beautiful or surprising, moments worth capturing. Beyond the authentic street food, are gour-

he historic old town of Cartagena, a melting pot of myths, legends and cultures offers a luxurious Caribbean weekend escape that not only offers quintessential white sandy beaches and coral atolls but also embraces history, culture and gastronomy. The fortified, historic quarter of this coastal city maintains an exotic, romantic atmosphere, whilst also being home to stylish boutique and luxury hotels, gourmet restaurants and upscale retail stores. It’s a far cry from the outdated view of a country struggling with narcotic- fueled organized crime. Now Columbia has reclaimed its position on the global tourism stage, with a culturally-rich offering for visitors, including the outstanding city of Cartagena de Indias. In colonial times it was a strategic port for the Spanish, exporting gold, silver and emerald wealth to Andalucía. Constantly under threat from competitive European navies and sponsored pirates, this wealthy trading city adopted

met restaurants and buzzing bars, perfect for relaxing meals and refreshing cocktails. Latin and creole flavors collide with those from Europe and the Americas, creating exciting dishes and memorable feasts. Many of old town’s iconic buildings have been converted into upscale hotels. Casa San Agustin, recently voted amongst the top new hotels in the world, is a trio of colonial era white-washed buildings that have been impeccably renovated, maintaining the warmth, charm and elegance of a magnificent private residence, whilst now incorporating luxury appointed guest suites. Artisan Columbian crafted furniture and fittings, hard wood colonial shutters, antiques and art combine to create a magical ambiance. This is the intimate choice for luxury breaks in Cartagena; a place to seek peace, tranquility and elegance within this tropical, Caribbean city. A few blocks across town, within a stunning, historic convent is Sofitel’s luxury Legend resort, the Hotel Santa Clara. Its arched cloisters surround a verdant patio, complete with historic trickling fountain, and is home to the resort’s mascot, a Toucan called ‘Mateo’. A stay here is to experience the city as portrayed by Gabriel García Márquez, since this extraordinary building is said to be the location inspiration for ‘Of Love and Other Demons’. Guest suites are within both the ancient convent and the adjacent modern classical wing, which also includes a spa, gym and a stunning outdoor pool. The nearby bohemian quarter of Getsemaní is now one of the city’s most authentic, vibrant neighborhoods. It is home to salsa bars that fill the streets with Caribbean and Cuban sounds, and offer the best mojitos cocktails. A night out here will be one of the many lasting memories of this tropical, spell-binding Caribbean city

Essential Istanbul Turkey’s pulsating cultural capital can be overwhelming – so let Andrew Forbes reveal the most important city experiences.

I

embraced Istanbul’s strategic position, and as ‘Byzantium’, ‘Constantinople’ and now ‘Istanbul’, it has been the capital to some of the world’s greatest empires. This extraordinary past has left a rich architectural legacy, including the quintessential Eastern minarets of the city’s historic mosques in the Sultanahmet district. However Istanbul is very much a modern city. To capture the essential experience of modern Istanbul, explore the eclectic, creative districts where the locals live. ‘Beyoğlu’, for example, on the European side of the city, separated from old town by the Golden Horn waterway, is the young and innovative area. It has distinct quarters, including Tünel, and Karaköy which includes the increasingly fashionable Galata. Amongst the cobbled streets of loft units and period buildings are coffee shops, cafés, bars, restaurants and late night venues where there are more residents than tourists. This is the area to soak up the city atmosphere during the day and then party the night away.

People are warm, friendly and talkative, eager to share the best of their city. With the boutiques and galleries that sell works from emerging Turkish artists, and the street art and graffiti, these areas have a distinctly urban, creative buzz that reflects Istanbul’s acknowledged position as the cultural capital of Turkey. The city’s annual ‘Art Istanbul’ and ‘Contemporary Istanbul’ festivals, together with the visual arts ‘Biennale’, and international film, theatre and music festivals make Istanbul one of the most culturally dynamic centres in the world. Another truly essential experience is to visit the Asian side of Istanbul. Although a new metro-line, the first sub-sea tunnel in the world, now joins the two sides of the city, (together with two striking suspension bridges) the best way to travel is on the water. There are a host of visitor boats trips to choose from, and standing between the many street vendors selling grilled or poached corn on the cob, there are plenty of touts willing to

DEC- JAN 2013/14

t’s the world’s only city to straddle two continents; it’s a metropolis where exotic eastern culture collides with European styles; a place where life is celebrated through art, cuisine and culture. It can only be Istanbul. It’s crowded and chaotic, yet also sophisticated and clean, where one moment you might be walking down a European-style Belle Époque avenue and then moments later be surrounded by colourful ‘Arabian Nights’ architecture. Istanbul is also a city of excess and luxury, and is home to many high-end hotels, including properties from all the major luxury brands from Kempinski, Four Seasons, to Ritz Carlton. So sometimes the hardest decision is choosing which beautiful palace of indulgence to call home whilst in Istanbul. The Ritz Carlton makes a fine choice as it is housed in one of the city’s striking towers and offers stunning views across the city and the Bosphoros straits; vistas that are one of the city’s essential experiences. History shows that many civilisations have

109

110

sell a ticket. But a more authentic alternative is to take one of the vintage commuter ferries across to Kadıköy on the Asian side of the city, taking in some spectacular vistas on the way. The Ritz Carlton hotel has the only city spa that includes a rooftop area. So as you are pampered with the Turkish Hammam inspired treatments or take a swim in the pool you can also enjoy an unforgettable view of the Bosphorus and the minarets of old town. Spa culture is nothing new to the Turks and a traditional hammam is an essential part of the Istanbul experience. At first it can be confusing to the uninitiated, so taking a hammam at a luxury hotel gives you a chance to get to grips with the bathing etiquette whilst at the same time being truly pampered. There are also traditional baths in every neighbourhood, but the most famous is probably the historic Cagaloglu Baths. Based on bathing techniques that have been passed down from the Romans, to the Byzantines and onto the Turks, a hammam here has a real classic Ottoman flavour. A visit to the city’s Sultanahmet district, the Old Town, although very ‘touristy’, is a requisite. The area is full of ancient buildings from the Middle Ages and more recent Ottoman Palaces, each giving some clues about the city’s colourful past. The Blue Mosque (Sultanahmet Mosque), with its distinctive six towering minarets, at-

tracts the most visitors, and is still used as a place of worship, so visits fit in around the regular prayer times. As is customary, one has to dress conservatively and take off shoes before entering. Sit on the carpeted floor and look up, and take in the vast array of pastel blue ceramic detailing of the interior.

"To capture the essential experience of modern Istanbul, explore the eclectic, creative districts where the locals live." Opposite is the Hagia Sophia museum, a 6th Century Roman Christian Basilica, that later became a mosque in the 15th century. It is one of the most extraordinary buildings architecturally and culturally, and now, as a secular museum, it celebrates both faiths. Below the streets of Sultanahmet is the Basilica Cistern. This is giant cistern built in the 6th century to store water in the event of a city siege. Now an elevated walkway above the remaining water allows a privileged view of the huge columned space.

Any list of things to do in Istanbul surely includes trying a Turkish coffee. Some of the best can be found in Café Fes, in the Grand Bazaar. This vast covered market is an unexpected treat. It’s not a chaotic or disorganised frenzy like a North African souk; instead it is an immaculately presented covered market of small retailers, where you can find carpets, classic tulip shaped Turkish tea glasses, jewellery, intricately decorated lamps and plenty of ceramics. Amongst the shops are cafés and bars including the Fes Café that presents its Turkish coffee on a silver tray, accompanied with a shot of delicious almond liqueur, a handmade Turkish delight and a glass of fresh water. To satisfy an appetite for exotic eastern products, visit the Egyptian Bazaar, or spice bazaar as it is also known. This is as much a working retail centre as it is a city attraction, offering striking and vibrant scenes of spices piled high; extravagant handmade Turkish delight and displays of colourful Mediterranean and Middle Eastern foods. When it comes to food, there is only one way to eat in Istanbul; sharing a meze. These small dishes are the perfect appetizer to any meal, and include tasty snacks such as hummus, fried vegetables, cheeses, meat balls, skewers and so much more – together they make up lively and social meal. A journey to Istanbul is one of life’s essential and unforgettable experiences

pened for the first time on June 7th 2012 by SBE, it is easily one of the newest five star hotels to be opened in Florida. But despite being open for only less than half a year, it is already making a name for itself within the hospitality industry, if for no other reason than its location. The former site of the Ritz Plaza Hotel is the new home of SLS South-Beach, providing it with very large shoes to fill. A challenge SLS is more than ready to meet. “Our clientele demands immaculate service, impeccable design, and varied world-class dining and nightlife options” – CEO Sam Nazarian Now available is what the SLS management are calling the “Tower Penthouse”. 1044 square feet of space, ocean and beach view, spa, 47 inch television, and a private rooftop terrace will be some of the emanates found in this most luxurious of accommodations, once it arrives. However, it’s only reserved for those with heavier wallets. The penthouse is just one

of the rooms in this 140 room labyrinth. There are plenty of living spaces available for those looking for something a bit more affordable.

Maldive Islands

An Escape As Breathtaking As It Is Remote

f you desire solitude and an indulgent escape, head to the Maldives for an exotic retreat. This elusive chain of islands will delight you with its world class diving and panoramic seascapes. The Republic of the Maldives is an equatorial island chain in the most remote part of the Indian Ocean. Its tropical location allows for an exclusivity evidenced by the affluent visitors and bespoke resorts. With over 1,000 islands, only 200 are inhabited, 101 of which are designated to a single resort. An important stop on the major spice trade routes for centuries, the culture of the Maldives has an eclectic milieu of Middle Eastern, Indian, African, and Indonesian influences. Now a sumptuous retreat for discernible travelers from around the world, the mainstay of the Maldivian economy is tourism. Most of the Maldives islands are only 1.5 meters above sea level. A unique environment for diverse ocean life with its warm, shallow waters and abundance of flora, the Maldives’ relative land mass is also its downfall. With sea levels rising over the next hundred years, the Republic of the Maldives will be no more by the turn of the century. This ephemeral and fleeting landscape, punctuated by sapphire waters and bright coral, should be on every astute traveler’s list. The islands’ cachet has always been its remote location, providing mystery and intrigue still today. Even the current leader, Mohammed Waheed Hassan, a Stanford Ph.D. with exceptional credentials, deposed the previous President in an alleged

coup d’etat. Despite its captivating and sophisticated landscapes and resorts, less than 15,000 Americans traveled to the Maldives in 2011. Cost is not the only inhibitor. Flying to the Maldives is an arduous adventure, logging over 30 hours from the East Coast. From the capital Malé, each resort provides exclusive transportation to its island by either seaplane or boat. Most of the resort islands are on atolls, ring-shaped coral reefs surrounding a lagoon. The Jumeirah Dhevanafushi, one of the newer resorts in the Maldives, takes full advantage of the one island-one resort policy with its overwater bungalows, exceptional

LESS THAN 15,000 AMERICANS VISITED THE MALDIVES IN 2011 restaurants, and 5 star PADI certified diving center. This all-suite resort provides only 38 residences, ensuring solitude and comfort in elegant surroundings. Avoid the overwater bungalows and opt for the ultra-private beach and island bungalows decked out with private pools, Hermes toiletries, Apple media centers, and 24 hour butler service. With nothing to do but relax, the Talise spa will provide the only reminders of reality. The Maldives’ idyllic islands provide for an opulent vacation. For those willing to go outside the boundaries of a resort, private yacht charters provide a custom experience

and unequalled perspective. Even the most exclusive resorts are offering charter yacht cruises around the Maldives. One of the premier vessels is the Four Seasons Explorer. The Four Seasons Explorer cruises around the islands with only 22 guests, stopping at Four Seasons resorts and uninhabited islands so that guests can indulge in unspoiled beaches and personalized activities. Along with a dive crew, marine biologist, and spa therapist, the Four Seasons Explorer provides the custom service expected from the Four Seasons. The intimate voyage includes 3 dive site visits a day, world-class dining, and a 1-1 crew to passenger ratio. It is best to visit the Maldives from October to April, outside of the monsoon season, but avoid February, as it has become the most popular tourist month for elite honeymooners from China. Round trip business class tickets from Miami start at $13,000 per person.

climb out of the well and bask in the sunlight of achieving his goal. A proud moment for him, indeed, but certainly was not a moment for him to rest on his laurels. He knows that in order to stay within the hotel business, he must keep evolving. And to keep evolving, Paul must always be learning. The UK, in 1989, was experiencing a prop-

Mr. Kerr was, at the time, working for the Ritz Hotel chain, among others. The hotels were not in the best of shape because of the “property crash”, and it was Kerr’s job to deal with the problems that arose. As you can imagine, he had his work cut out for him. Slowly but surely, his name within the circles of the luxury hotel business began to reach new heights. Falling under the recently formed prevue of the non-profit “semi-governing body”, “Small Luxury Hotels”, meant there was a vested interest in Paul Kerr’s comings, goings, and doings. It wasn’t long before some keen eyes within SLH began to take notice of Paul’s talents. Thus beginning Kerr’s meteoric march

up the ladder and cementing his position within the company. Paul Kerr’s leadership has allowed the Small Luxury Hotels organization to experience a rather large expansion, one that has not been since the creation of the non-profit in the eighties. Kerr has presided over the inclusion of over 520 hotels in more than 70 countries, all of which qualify as luxury. This is an impressive feet even if you don’t consider the fact that SLH was responsible for only 70 hotels in 12 countries when Mr. Kerr first started working as CEO of the company. Quoting Mr. Kerr, “Our brand offers a completely different experience than the international chains you mentioned trying to get a ‘piece of the boutique pie’”. The company has turned into a veritable United Nations of luxury hotels. “One of the biggest changes in the industry is the introduction of executive floors - this is an attempt by the big hotels to offer a more personalized service. A small hotel in a big hotel”, says Paul Kerr as he demonstrates his acumen for trends. All this was possible thanks to Paul Kerr’s philosophy of constantly learning, always improving, and doing whatever it takes to get the job done. A skill he picked up in his youth when he was trying to become an accountant. So with that I return you to the original question. Would all this be possible if Mr. Paul Kerr did not struggle to reach where he is today, and learn what it means to work hard? Would he have done as much if he was just merely smart? That is really the eternal question of the human condition. Are we the product of our environment? Or are we, not to quote a Lady Gaga song, just born this way? We may never know

tarting from humble beginnings gives a person a good deal of perspective, drive, and the necessary tools to excel. People the likes of Oprah Winfrey and J.K. Rowling inspire us with their rags to riches stories and show us that anyone can achieve anything. But it also poses an interesting question. Would these people be where they are today if they had an easy life? Well one thing is for sure, it can help the wanderer on life’s journey to develop a philosophy. And UK born Chief Executive Officer of Small Luxury Hotels Paul Kerr’s life is no exception. Much like a lot of people in their university years, he had no idea what he wanted to do with his life. For many years, he would constantly find himself looking up from the bottom of a well, dreaming of the day his hard work pays off and is able to climb out. So he did what any good philosopher would do when faced with a question. He began to think. Initially, he had the desire to go into medicine. He mulled it over for some time, but ultimately had to change his mind as he did not have the necessary grades. But then he a flash of inspiration that would guide him through the rest of his life. He decided to work in the luxury hotel business, and he knew just how he was going to do it. Following in the footsteps of his godfather, he eventually settled on wanting to be an accountant. With a clear path to his goal in mind, Mr. Kerr put himself through school by getting a job flipping burgers on the side. After all, school costs money and he knew it wouldn’t get any cheaper. Mr. Kerr’s perseverance paid off, and allowed him to work as an accountant. With that, he received his first taste of the luxury hotel business with Cunard Hotels and Resort. Paul was finally able to

here is a place where guests can easily be forgiven for thinking they are on their own private Mediterranean beach, and that place is The Marriott Harbor Beach Hotel. Its oceanfront terrace features fire pits, alcoves designed to seat guests comfortably, and a lush tropical landscape. Guests looking to satisfy their appetites can choose from six dining establishments. And afterwards, one can shed the pounds at the hotel’s 24 hour fitness centre. While this is all well and good, one cannot talk about a hotel without mentioning the obvious. The Marriott Harbor Beach Fort Lauderdale boasts 650 rooms.
