I Found My... LBIF MISSION To promote the arts and sciences on Long Beach Island and in the surrounding communities by enlightening, educating, and stimulating thought and discussion about current trends in the arts and sciences and by providing broad educational and cultural programs for all ages.
HISTORY Founded in 1948 by Boris Blai, the LBIF is an outstanding community cultural facility. Dr. Blai, a student of sculptor August Rodin and founding dean of the Tyler School of Art at Temple University, envisioned a facility that would foster individuals and their talents. The LBIF has continued this vision by offering thousands of classes, workshops, exhibitions, and educational programs to the community. Since its first season, the LBIF has committed itself to the enhancement of the creative arts and the physical sciences, and though it began as a seasonal operation, the LBIF has grown into a year-round organization providing a place for learning, free expression, and the exchange of ideas and understanding. The LBIF invites allvisitors and residents to participate in the manyprograms and activities offered this Spring!

To our community, Throughout its 67 year history, the Long Beach Island Foundation of Arts & Sciences has provided a unique place for learning, artistic expression and the exchange of experiences and understanding. Yet non-profit organizations such as the LBIF that bring cultural and educational offerings to the local community are becoming harder and harder to sustain, as donations and support of these types of organizations has decreased over recent years. The Foundation at Long Beach Island a unique place; thank you for helping to preserve it. Membership fees make up almost 33% of the LBIF annual budget. Without your membership support, and the continued support of our community, LBIF could not continue to operate. The Foundation embodies so much of what we love about LBI: family, friends, community, and a step back in time to a way of life that appreciates the simpler pleasures. If you are not familiar with what LBIF offers the community, browse the pages of our catalog or please stop in and visit us. From art exhibitions, ceramics classes to yoga, tennis and marsh walks, you will find so much going on at the Foundation! We hope that you will come and take advantage of our extensive offerings. LBIF is such a great place to connect with old friends and neighbors, or to meet new ones. Thank you for your continued support. Sincerely, The Board of Trustees Long Beach Island Foundation of Arts & Sciences
