PhD & Research-Based Masters Programs Bulletin ISSUE 9.1 | JANUARY 2015

Research-Based Program Updates We were pleased to welcome many new graduate students to SBE’s Research-Based programs this Fall. Our Fall 2014 intake totalled 43 students across the PhD, MSc, MFin, and MABE programs.

New Funding Options for Graduate Students! An announcement was recently made by the Faculty of Graduate & Post-Doctoral Studies (FGPS) regarding positive changes to the funding provided for graduate students in research-intensive programs. Among the changes, there will be a $1,500 increase to the Master’s scholarship per eligible student, and simplified funding packages for major external award holders. FGPS is also introducing a tuition waiver for the international portion of the tuition fee to a maximum of 30 international graduate students in any given academic year. Priority for the partial tuition waiver for international graduate students will be given to those in doctoral programs.

Our students and alumni continue to be involved in a number of exciting ventures and we are thrilled to share their accomplishments with you here. Wishing you all of the best in 2015, - PhD & Research-Based Masters Programs Office

The $5,000 SBE Dean’s Scholarship will continue for the Fall 2015 intake. This scholarship will go to the top applicant in each field for the PhD, MSc, and MABE programs.

Applications are open for all programs for the Fall 2015 intake. As of January 23rd, overall applications are up 21% from last year at this same time.
