Support Street Children in Brazil
The city of Fortaleza is the epicenter of Brazilian hammock culture, and our hammocks COPA and BOSSANOVA are made by hand right there. For many children and teenagers from the favelas, the beach soccer academy “Dito Escolinha” is their only chance to create a better future for themselves. The teacher, Dito, offers them an alternative to drugs and violence, and teaches them important values in the process. EN
We support Dito Escolinha with financial donations to our cooperation partner, the charity “Tor zur Hoffnung e.V.” (“Goal to Hope”), and through events like the beach soccer tournament “COPA LA SIESTA”. In addition, €5 of the proceeds from every COPA and BOSSANOVA hammock sold are donated in support of the project. Das Zentrum der brasilianischen Hängemattenkultur ist Fortaleza. Von hier kommen unsere handgefertigten Hängematten COPA und BOSSANOVA. LA SIESTA s’est engagée à soutenir financièrement les projets de l’association « Tor zur Hoffnung e.V. » (« Le but de l’espoir ») : pour chaque hamac vendu des collections COPA et BOSSANOVA, 5 euros sont en effet reversés à l’association. LA SIESTA participe en outre à des actions ponctuelles, comme par exemple le tournoi de beach soccer (football de plage) « COPA LA SIESTA ». El centro de la cultura de las hamacas brasileñas es Fortaleza. De aquí provienen nuestras hamacas artesanales COPA y BOSSANOVA. La escuela de fútbol playa « Dito Escolinha » significa para muchos niños y jóvenes de los barrios pobres de la ciudad una perspectiva para un futuro mejor.
