Pathways to a bright future. MESSAGE FROM THE L ANGAR A COLLEGE FOUNDATION CHAIR

2015 was a year of change for the Langara College Foundation. Organizationally, we restructured and reaffirmed our commitment to financially support Langara College’s vision to become Canada’s pathways college and be a catalyst for student success. As an alumnus and a donor, I know first-hand how funds raised through the Foundation impacts student lives. They increase accessibility to education. They enrich the educational experience. They open up opportunities beyond the classroom and build the foundation for student success. Our donors give and support students in so many different ways. I am continually humbled by their generosity of spirit. In particular, I would like to shine a spotlight on Studio 58’s Legacy campaign and some of our silent champions. The many faculty and staff, like Ryan, Wendy, and Gerda, who quietly donated year after year in a variety of ways to support student success. The Langara community is so fortunate to have such dedicated champions. On behalf of the Foundation board and staff, our heartfelt thank you for your ongoing support. We could not do this without you.

said Ryan. “I joined the College in 2008 as an Instructional Assistant in Kinesiology while completing my graduate studies at UBC, and began in a teaching position one year later. I’m proud to be part of a very strong program.” “Langara’s Kinesiology program is well-regarded among its regional competitors. We have a wonderful group of dedicated instructors and our facilities rank among the best in the country. I want to make sure that the opportunities that Langara presents are available to students passionate about kinesiology. Tuition shouldn’t be a barrier to students’ success. I think of my monthly contribution as an investment in our students and in a program that has provided me with so much.”
