Electronic Media Design Electronic media Design program The Electronic Media Design Program is a one-year, full-time curriculum, designed to train graphic designers in web and interactive media. The emphasis is to train individuals in the strategic and stylistic elements of design, then ensure they have a strong technical background in order for them to effectively produce design work within a project’s budget. This is not a desktop publishing program, nor one that focuses exclusively on technical issues. It would be an advantage to have some design experience, but it is not a prerequisite. Students will be using a 15” Apple MacBook Pro laptop with full educational versions of the following software: Adobe Design Premium CS5 (InDesign, Photoshop Extended, Illustrator, Flash Professional, Dreamweaver, Acrobat Pro, Adobe Bridge, Device Central, and Fireworks) and Apple Final Cut Studio (Final Cut Pro, Soundtrack Pro, Motion, and DVD Studio Pro). All software is registered in the student’s name and belongs to the student. Included in tuition is a student membership to the Society of Graphic Designers of Canada (GDC) and connection to local events, awards, inspiration, portfolio reviews, job opportunities and peer networking. Entry into this program is based on an application interview. Students will receive one-onone consultation and instruction. All instructors are professional designers from the print and electronic media design industries, chosen for their extensive technical knowledge and industry recognized expertise.
