i-India - Street Child Project: giving street children a future i-india is a fully registered NGO established in 1993 now helping over 3000 children every day in Jaipur. One of i-india’s key projects is Ladli, a Vocational Training centre where children from both the street and shelter homes voluntarily participate in jewellery and handicraftmaking. Schooling as well as dance, computer, music and art lessons and a hot meal are also provided. Ladli is a relaxed and pleasant environment where children gain confidence and self-esteem. The jewellery is sold in Australia , Europe and here in Singapore and each child participating in Ladli is paid monthly. Jaipur is known for its gems and artisan jewellery and it is hoped that the children will forge a lifelong career with the skills they have learnt. 100% of profits from jewellery sales goes back to i-india.
